Netflix has announced an increase in subscription prices across multiple countries, including the US, Canada, Portugal, and Argentina. The streaming service is raising fees to fund investments in content development and improve platform features.
For US subscribers, the standard ad-free plan will rise to $17.99 per month from $15.49, marking an increase of $2.50. Meanwhile, the ad-supported plan will see a modest hike, now priced at $7.99 per month, up from $6.99. The premium plan, which offers top-tier streaming quality and additional device support, will cost $24.99, up from $22.99.
This price change is set to take effect during the next billing cycle for all affected users. This marks Netflix's first price increase for its ad-supported tier, which launched in 2022. The company previously raised prices in October 2023, making this the latest adjustment.
Despite the price hikes, Netflix remains focused on improving its services, with these increases aimed at maintaining its competitive edge and continuing its global content expansion.
