Oppo recently unveiled its flagship Find X8 smartphone series in China, and the promotional campaign has already begun in India, hinting at an imminent launch. While Oppo has yet to announce the global or Indian launch dates, the company has teased the camera capabilities of the Find X8 series, fueling anticipation among tech enthusiasts.
The Find X8 series introduces the world’s first dual periscope camera system featuring a unique Triple Prism Fold Reflection System. This advanced system supports 3x and 6x optical zoom, with a 50MP LYT-600 sensor offering 3x zoom and a 50MP IMX858 sensor providing 6x zoom. A key innovation in this system is the Triple Prism folded lens, which reduces the camera’s weight by 30% and size by 24%, while minimizing lens protrusion to just 3.09mm, creating a sleek and modern design.
The Find X8’s 50MP LYT-808 main camera ensures excellent image clarity, even in low-light conditions. Its improved HyperTone Image Engine and 2-DOL HDR capture bring enhanced detail and dynamic range to close-up photos, such as portraits or pet shots. The camera’s ability to capture details with fine precision is emphasized even in challenging lighting conditions like bright, sunny days.
The Oppo Find X8 series also boasts an impressive AI-powered Telescope Zoom feature, using generative AI models to zoom into distant subjects while maintaining image clarity. The camera system supports zoom levels from 10x to 120x, with AI algorithms employed at different zoom stages to ensure optimal clarity. For example, at 10x-20x, AI algorithms boost resolution, while at 60x-120x, an AI-powered generative model reconstructs images at the pixel level to enhance detail in long-distance shots.
In terms of video quality, the Find X8 series stands out with Dolby Vision support, offering superior video control with frame-by-frame adjustments for brightness and contrast. The camera captures over a billion colors with a 12-bit processing pipeline, delivering vibrant, smooth, and lifelike videos.
Another exciting feature is the dedicated Quick Button, which allows users to launch the camera with a simple touch. A long press activates continuous shooting, and the button also supports zoom when shooting photos or videos in landscape mode.
The Oppo Find X8 series also introduces Hasselblad Camera Mode, emulating the iconic medium-format photography of the Hasselblad X2D camera. This mode offers natural bokeh effects, accurate color representation, and a dynamic range that mirrors real-life scenes. Users can choose between Auto and Pro modes, with focal lengths ranging from 24mm to 135mm for versatile, professional-level shots.
Though Oppo has not yet confirmed the launch date for India, the company has begun teasing these exciting features, suggesting that the official announcement may be coming soon.
