The Redmi A4 5G, one of the most affordable 5G phones in India, supports standalone (SA) 5G technology. However, it is not compatible with Airtel's 5G network, which uses non-standalone (NSA) technology. While Airtel users will only be able to access 4G services, Jio users, who operate on SA-based networks, can take full advantage of the 5G speeds on the Redmi A4 5G.
This phone is powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset, ensuring a budget-friendly 5G experience. It offers a large 6.88-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals, making it a great option for everyday use. The camera setup includes a 50MP dual rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera for decent photography. The 5,160mAh battery supports 18W charging, providing all-day battery life.
Despite the lack of NSA 5G support, the phone’s budget price (Rs. 8,499 for 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, Rs. 9,499 for the 128GB variant) makes it an attractive option for buyers, especially Jio users. It will be available for sale on November 27, but Airtel users may want to explore other devices for a complete 5G experience.
