Samsung has officially launched its Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition in its home market, South Korea, following the earlier release of the standard model in July 2024. This new edition comes with several enhancements, including a redesigned exterior, larger displays, a more powerful camera, and improved performance.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition boasts a new "Black Shadow" color and a striped design on the back. Its form factor has been refined, reducing the thickness by 1.5mm when folded and 0.7mm when unfolded, while also shedding 3 grams of weight. The special edition measures 10.6mm folded and 4.9mm unfolded, with a total weight of 236 grams. Additionally, the rear camera module has been redesigned, shifting from a pill-shaped design to a rectangular module with rounded edges.
One of the standout features of the Special Edition is the larger displays. The foldable main display has increased from 7.6 inches to 8 inches with a 20:18 aspect ratio, while the cover display has also grown from 6.3 inches to 6.5 inches, offering more screen space for users.
On the camera front, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition comes with a significant upgrade, moving from a 50MP primary camera in the standard model to an impressive 200MP primary sensor in this edition. Additionally, the special edition offers 16GB of RAM, an increase from the 12GB found in the standard version, promising improved performance for multitasking and demanding applications.
In summary, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is the thinnest and lightest model in Samsung's foldable series, with the largest foldable and cover displays. It also marks the first time a Galaxy Z Fold device features a 200MP camera and 16GB of RAM.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is priced at KRW 2,789,600 (~ INR 1,70,852) and will be available starting October 25, 2024, in South Korea through Samsung’s official website and major mobile carriers. Early buyers will also receive reward coupons for other Galaxy devices.
