Vivo has quietly launched the Vivo Y29 5G in India, listed on its official website without any official announcement. The device seems to have been released silently following a series of launches by the brand. The Vivo Y29 5G shares a similar design to the recently launched Vivo Y300 5G, but with a notable upgrade in performance with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset.
The Y29 5G sports a 6.68-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smooth scrolling and gaming experiences. It features a 50MP dual-camera setup with a unique Dynamic Light Show feature, which generates visual effects during music playback and notifications, enhancing the multimedia experience.
The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and comes with virtual RAM expansion, allowing the RAM to be virtually doubled in each configuration: 4GB+4GB, 6GB+6GB, and 8GB+8GB. This ensures smoother multitasking and app handling.
It is equipped with a large 5500mAh battery and supports 44W fast charging, providing impressive battery life. The Y29 5G offers up to 19.7 hours of YouTube playback, 11.3 hours of PUBG gaming, and 14.5 hours each on Facebook and Instagram. The device can be charged to 100% in just around 79 minutes and includes 24-dimensional security protection with a 4-year battery health assurance.
The phone also features military-grade certification, SGS 5-star drop resistance, shock-absorbing corners, and an impact-resistant Wave-Crest Phone Case. It has an IP64 dust and water resistance rating and supports wet finger touch operations, ensuring durability and reliability.
For security, the Vivo Y29 5G comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and offers storage expandability up to 1TB. It weighs 198g and includes standard connectivity options such as dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, and GPS, making it a well-rounded device for everyday use. The Vivo Y29 5G is available starting at ₹13,999.
