Xiaomi has officially launched the Winplay Engine, an innovative feature designed to bring Windows game compatibility to its tablets without requiring an internet connection. This cutting-edge technology is part of the HyperOS ecosystem and enables tablets to play games locally with exceptional performance.

The Winplay Engine operates using a three-layer virtualization translation technology, ensuring minimal GPU performance loss of just 2.9%. It supports various input devices, including keyboards, mice, and controllers, providing a seamless gaming experience. Users can also access games from major platforms like Steam and GOG with ease, further enhancing the versatility of Xiaomi tablets for gaming.

Leveraging HyperCore technology, the engine ensures ultra-high performance and stability for running Windows games. Xiaomi’s announcement was supported by a video shared on Weibo, where a tipster demonstrated the engine’s capabilities by playing Windows games on the Pad 6S Pro 12.4, showcasing seamless integration with Xbox controllers.

Currently, the Winplay Engine is available only for internal testing on Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4. Interested users must apply for OS2 AI Treasure Box internal testing permissions via the Xiaomi community to participate. Xiaomi has yet to disclose the official release date for this feature but is expected to expand testing to more Xiaomi tablets in the near future.

This groundbreaking development aims to redefine tablet gaming, making it more accessible and versatile for users who want to enjoy Windows games on a portable device.
