Commercial LPG cylinder prices have been revised upward across several cities in India from October 1, 2026, just ahead of the festive season. The latest revision applies to 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders that are commonly used by restaurants, hotels, eateries, catering businesses and other commercial establishments. At the same time, the prices of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders used by household consumers have remained unchanged.
In Delhi, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased by Rs 62.50. The cylinder, which was priced at Rs 2,747.50 in September, now costs Rs 2,810. The increase represents a rise of around 2.3 percent. The revision came into effect from October 1 and coincides with the beginning of the festive period, when demand from restaurants, hotels and catering establishments generally increases.
Commercial LPG prices have also increased in other major cities. In Mumbai, the price has increased by Rs 63 to Rs 2,764. In Chennai, the price has gone up by Rs 66.50 to Rs 2,983. In Kolkata, the revised price is Rs 2,954. In Lucknow, the price has increased by Rs 62.50 to Rs 2,932.50. In Patna, the increase is Rs 71.50, taking the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder from Rs 3,029 to Rs 3,100.50. Among the cities cited in the latest reports, Patna recorded the largest increase.
Other locations have also recorded revisions. The commercial LPG cylinder price has increased to Rs 2,831.50 in Ahmedabad and Rs 3,046 in Kanyakumari. In Tawang, the price has risen to Rs 3,073.50, while the rate in Leh has increased to Rs 3,450. The exact price and increase vary from one location to another.
For household consumers, there is no corresponding increase in the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder under the October 1 revision. The domestic cylinder remains priced at Rs 942 in Delhi, Rs 941.50 in Mumbai and Rs 957.50 in Chennai. In Lucknow, the domestic LPG cylinder remains at Rs 979.50, while the price in Patna is Rs 1,031.50.
The distinction between commercial and domestic LPG prices is important for consumers and businesses. Commercial LPG cylinders are primarily used by establishments that require larger quantities of cooking gas for business operations. Restaurants, hotels, food outlets and catering companies are among the users that may see an increase in their operating expenses following the latest revision.
The October price revision comes during the festive season, when demand for food services and hospitality can increase. Businesses that use commercial LPG may therefore need to account for the higher cylinder cost in their operating expenses. However, the direct impact on individual households using 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders is limited because the domestic cylinder price has not been revised as part of this change.
LPG prices are periodically revised based on several market factors, including international LPG benchmark prices and currency movements. The Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell, functioning under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, maintains data related to petroleum and LPG prices in India. State-owned oil marketing companies publish the applicable retail prices for different categories of LPG cylinders.
The commercial LPG price revision follows an increase recorded in September. In Delhi, the 19 kg commercial cylinder had risen by Rs 9.50 in September to Rs 2,747.50. The latest October revision has therefore resulted in another increase for commercial users within two consecutive months.
The latest change is limited to commercial LPG under the October 1 revision. Domestic LPG prices remain unchanged in the cities cited in the current price lists. Consumers and businesses are advised to check the latest applicable rates for their respective locations, as commercial LPG prices can differ between cities.
The October 1 revision is therefore particularly relevant for commercial establishments that rely on 19 kg LPG cylinders for cooking and other operations. Household consumers using 14.2 kg cylinders have not been affected by this particular increase. The price changes are part of the regular LPG pricing revisions announced by oil marketing companies.
