Suzuki Motorcycle India has introduced the 2026 Hayabusa Special Edition in the Indian market, adding a more exclusive version to its flagship superbike range. The new Special Edition is priced at Rs 19.90 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi, placing it Rs 91,000 above the updated standard Hayabusa, which is priced at Rs 18.99 lakh ex-showroom.
The latest Hayabusa Special Edition focuses primarily on exclusive styling and equipment rather than mechanical changes. Suzuki has retained the motorcycle's established engine and chassis package while introducing a distinctive colour scheme and several cosmetic details to separate the Special Edition from the standard model.
The Special Edition is available in Pearl Vigor Blue. It receives dedicated decals and a different wheel finish, giving the motorcycle a distinct appearance compared with the regular version. The fuel tank also gets a three-dimensional Suzuki emblem along with dedicated Special Edition badging.
Another visual change is the anodised finish applied to the muffler end and heat guard. Suzuki has also equipped the Special Edition with a single-seat cowl as standard. The cowl replaces the conventional passenger-seat appearance and gives the motorcycle a more focused sports-bike look.
While the Special Edition receives exclusive cosmetic equipment, the standard Hayabusa has also been updated for the 2026 model year. Suzuki has introduced three new dual-tone colour combinations for the regular motorcycle. These include Candy Daring Red with Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Galaxy Gray with Candy Burnt Gold, and Pearl Vigor Blue with Pearl Brilliant White.
The standard Hayabusa continues to be priced at Rs 18.99 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi. This means buyers choosing the Special Edition pay an additional Rs 91,000 for the exclusive styling elements and standard equipment.
Apart from the cosmetic changes, Suzuki has also introduced updates that apply to both the standard Hayabusa and the Special Edition. One of the important changes is the adoption of a new ELIIY Power lithium-ion battery. According to Suzuki, the new battery is lighter and more compact than the earlier unit and provides more stable voltage under load.
The motorcycle's electronic rider-assistance systems have also received revisions. Suzuki has updated the settings of the Launch Control System and Power Mode Selector. These changes are aimed at refining the way the motorcycle responds to different riding conditions.
The Smart Cruise Control system has also been updated. The system can now remain active during gear changes, allowing the rider to maintain the selected cruising speed without having to continuously operate the throttle after a clutchless gear shift.
Despite these updates, there are no major mechanical changes to the Hayabusa. The motorcycle continues to use a 1,340cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, four-cylinder engine. The engine produces 190 bhp and 142 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a six-speed transmission.
The familiar engine remains one of the main characteristics of the Hayabusa. Suzuki has retained the existing powertrain rather than introducing a new engine with this Special Edition. This means the additional price of the Special Edition is primarily associated with its exclusive styling, equipment and the updated model-year features rather than an increase in engine output.
The motorcycle also continues with its twin-spar aluminium frame and swingarm. Suspension duties are handled by adjustable KYB inverted front forks and a rear monoshock. The braking system includes twin 320mm floating front discs with Brembo Stylema callipers, while the rear wheel uses a single disc brake with a Nissin calliper.
The Hayabusa rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22 tyres. Its aerodynamic bodywork has also been retained. The design is intended to provide stability and wind protection while maintaining the distinctive appearance associated with the Hayabusa name.
The electronic package continues to include several rider-assistance systems. These include the Motion Track Traction Control System, bi-directional quick-shift system, Suzuki Easy Start System, Low RPM Assist and slope-dependent control. The motorcycle also comes with LED lighting.
The Hayabusa has been an important model for Suzuki's premium motorcycle portfolio in India, and the new Special Edition gives customers an additional option at the top of the current range. The focus of this version is on exclusivity rather than a significant performance upgrade.
It is also important to distinguish the Indian 2026 Special Edition from the newer 2027 Hayabusa Special Edition that Suzuki has introduced in international markets. The 2026 Special Edition launched in India is the version currently offered in the Indian market, while the newer global 2027 version has different styling and is not the model announced for India in this launch.
The updated standard Hayabusa and the Special Edition are available through Suzuki Motorcycle India dealerships across the country. Suzuki is also offering genuine accessories and Hayabusa-branded riding equipment for customers.
For Indian buyers, the key difference between the two variants is therefore the price and the exclusive equipment. The standard Hayabusa costs Rs 18.99 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, while the Special Edition costs Rs 19.90 lakh. The Rs 91,000 difference brings the exclusive Pearl Vigor Blue finish, special decals, unique wheel finish, dedicated badging, anodised components and the single-seat cowl.
With the 2026 update, Suzuki has retained the familiar 1,340cc engine and core mechanical hardware while making targeted improvements to the electronics and battery.
