Outlook for Honda's Two Wheeler Business Honda's October 2026 sales report reflects positive growth in both domestic and export markets.

Honda Two Wheeler Sales Rise 13% in October 2026 to 7.35 Lakh Units as Exports Grow 35%

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) recorded total sales of 7,34,566 two-wheelers in October 2026, registering 13% year-on-year growth compared with 6,50,596 units sold in October 2025. The company's performance was supported by growth in both domestic sales and exports, with overseas shipments recording a stronger increase during the month.

Domestic sales reached 6,64,831 units in October 2026, representing an 11% increase over the 5,98,952 units recorded in the corresponding month last year. Exports stood at 69,735 units, marking 35% growth compared with 51,644 units in October 2025.

The October performance comes during the festive-season period, when demand for motorcycles and scooters generally receives additional support from consumer purchases. Honda said steady underlying demand, its product portfolio and its dealer network helped support sales during the month.

Honda Records 7.34 Lakh Two Wheeler Sales in October

HMSI's total sales increased by 83,970 units compared with October 2025. The company sold 7,34,566 units during October this year, against 6,50,596 units in the same month last year.

Domestic sales accounted for the largest share of the monthly total. With 6,64,831 units dispatched in India, the domestic market contributed more than 90% of Honda's October sales. Exports added another 69,735 units.

The figures represent wholesale sales, which refer to vehicles dispatched by the company to dealers and export destinations. They should not be confused with retail registrations or the number of vehicles purchased directly by customers during the month.

The growth in both domestic and export volumes helped Honda achieve an overall increase of 13% in October.

Exports Register Stronger Growth Than Domestic Sales

One of the key highlights of Honda's October performance was the 35% increase in exports. The company shipped 69,735 two-wheelers to overseas markets, compared with 51,644 units in October 2025.

Domestic sales also remained positive, increasing by 11% to 6,64,831 units. Although domestic volumes were significantly higher than exports, the overseas business recorded a faster growth rate during the month.

The export performance indicates that international shipments contributed to the company's overall sales growth. However, the company has not provided a detailed country-wise breakdown of October exports in the reported figures.

The difference between domestic and export growth rates also highlights the importance of both markets to Honda's business. While India remains the company's largest sales market, exports provide an additional source of volume.

Activa, Shine and CB350 Remain Important Honda Models

Honda has a wide range of two-wheelers in the Indian market, including scooters and motorcycles across different price and engine categories.

The Activa is one of the company's best-known scooter ranges, while the Shine series serves customers looking for commuter motorcycles. The CB350 range is positioned in the premium motorcycle category.

Other models in Honda's portfolio include the Dio, Unicorn and various motorcycles designed for different riding requirements. This broad product range allows the company to serve customers looking for everyday commuting vehicles as well as motorcycles for leisure and longer journeys.

However, HMSI has not released separate model-wise wholesale sales figures for October 2026. Therefore, it cannot be confirmed how many Activa, Shine or CB350 units were sold during the month or how much each model contributed to the reported 13% growth.

The company's overall sales figures cover its complete two-wheeler portfolio rather than individual models. Any claim that a particular model was responsible for the October growth should therefore be treated cautiously unless supported by separate company data.

April to October FY2027 Sales Increase 15%

Honda also reported positive results for the first seven months of the financial year 2026 to 2027.

Between April and October 2026, HMSI recorded total sales of 41,74,638 units, compared with 36,44,151 units during the corresponding period of the previous financial year. This represents year-on-year growth of approximately 15%.

Domestic sales during the seven-month period increased by 13% to 37,08,903 units, compared with 32,80,990 units in April to October 2025.

Exports recorded an even stronger performance over the same period. Honda shipped 4,65,735 units to international markets, registering 28% growth compared with 3,63,161 units in the previous year.

These figures show that both domestic demand and exports contributed to Honda's cumulative sales growth during FY2027. The increase in exports was particularly notable, while the domestic market continued to account for the majority of the company's total volumes.

Festive Season Demand Supports Sales Performance

Honda said it witnessed steady underlying demand during the festive season in October. The company attributed its performance to its product portfolio and its extensive sales and service network across India.

HMSI operates a network of more than 7,000 touchpoints, helping it reach customers across different regions. Its manufacturing operations are spread across four plants located in Manesar, Tapukara, Narsapura and Vithalapur.

The festive period is an important sales season for the Indian two-wheeler industry. Purchases of scooters and motorcycles often receive support from customers planning vehicle purchases around festivals and family occasions.

However, the company did not provide a separate numerical estimate of how much festive demand contributed to October's sales increase. Its statement highlighted steady demand and the strength of its product and dealer network as supporting factors.

Outlook for Honda's Two Wheeler Business

Honda's October 2026 sales report reflects positive growth in both domestic and export markets. The 13% increase in total monthly sales and 15% growth in cumulative April to October volumes indicate that the company maintained sales momentum during the first seven months of FY2027.

The stronger export performance is another important development, with overseas shipments growing faster than domestic sales in both October and the cumulative financial-year period.

Going forward, demand for commuter motorcycles, scooters and premium models will remain important to the company's performance. The availability of products across different categories and its dealer network will continue to play a role in reaching customers.

For now, Honda has reported encouraging overall sales figures, but the absence of model-wise data means the individual contribution of the Activa, Shine and CB350 ranges cannot be established. The company's next monthly sales announcement will provide further information about whether this growth momentum continues.

The difference between domestic and export growth rates also highlights the importance of both markets to Honda's business.
