These technology upgrades are aimed at improving convenience during daily use as well as long-distance touring.

KTM has unveiled the 2027 1390 Super Duke GT EVO at EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy. The new motorcycle brings together the performance of the Super Duke family and the comfort and technology expected from a premium sport tourer. It receives a powerful V twin engine, electronically controlled suspension, advanced rider assistance systems and an updated digital instrument display.

The new model is designed for riders who want high performance without giving up long-distance touring comfort. Its equipment package includes third-generation WP APEX semi-active suspension, Brembo braking components and an Automated Manual Transmission. The motorcycle also receives updated bodywork, improved lighting and revised rider ergonomics.

One of the biggest highlights is its 1,350cc LC8 V twin engine, which produces 190 hp and 145 Nm of torque. KTM has also introduced its Cam-Shift variable valve timing technology to improve engine performance across different riding conditions.

The 2027 KTM 1390 Super Duke GT EVO is expected to reach dealerships in early 2027. The company has not yet announced its final price or confirmed its India launch timeline.

1,350cc LC8 V Twin Engine and Performance

The KTM 1390 Super Duke GT EVO is powered by a 1,350cc, liquid-cooled, 75-degree V twin engine. The engine produces a maximum output of 190 hp at 10,000 rpm and peak torque of 145 Nm at 8,000 rpm.

The engine is equipped with KTM's Cam-Shift variable valve timing technology. This system changes valve lift characteristics to help the engine deliver suitable performance across a wider range of engine speeds.

The technology is intended to combine strong low and mid-range response with high-revving performance. This is particularly important for a sport touring motorcycle, which needs to deliver acceleration for spirited riding as well as flexibility for longer journeys.

The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission. The GT EVO version also introduces KTM's Automated Manual Transmission, which allows riders to choose automatic gear changes or manual shifting without using a conventional clutch lever.

The combination of a high-performance engine and different transmission options gives the motorcycle a distinctive position in the premium sport touring category.

Automated Manual Transmission Technology

One of the most important additions to the GT EVO is KTM's Automated Manual Transmission, commonly known as AMT.

Unlike a conventional automatic transmission, the AMT uses a mechanical gearbox with an automated clutch and gear-shifting system. It removes the need for the rider to operate a traditional clutch lever.

Riders can allow the system to change gears automatically or select gears manually. Manual shifting is available through the foot lever and handlebar controls.

The system is designed to make riding more convenient in situations such as slow-moving traffic, hill starts and low-speed manoeuvring. It also allows riders to concentrate more on steering, braking and road conditions.

The AMT technology gives the GT EVO a different character from a traditional manual sport tourer. Riders who prefer conventional clutch operation may consider the standard manual version of the 1390 Super Duke GT, while the EVO offers an alternative with automated shifting.

Third Generation WP APEX Semi Active Suspension

The KTM 1390 Super Duke GT EVO features third-generation WP APEX Semi Active Technology suspension. This electronically controlled system adjusts damping according to riding conditions and the selected settings.

The front suspension uses a 48mm upside-down fork with a semi-active setup. At the rear, the motorcycle receives a WP APEX linkage shock with electronic damping control and hydraulic preload adjustment.

The suspension settings can be adjusted through the motorcycle's dashboard. Riders can choose from different modes depending on their preferences and road conditions.

The system is designed to balance handling and comfort. A firmer setup can support more aggressive riding, while softer settings can improve comfort on longer journeys and uneven roads.

The electronically controlled suspension is an important feature for a high-performance touring motorcycle because it allows the rider to adjust the motorcycle's behaviour without making manual mechanical changes.

Brembo Brakes and Safety Equipment

KTM has equipped the 1390 Super Duke GT EVO with Brembo Stylema braking components. The front braking system uses twin 320mm discs with four-piston monobloc calipers.

At the rear, the motorcycle gets a 240mm disc with a two-piston caliper. The braking package is designed to provide strong stopping performance for a motorcycle with a powerful engine.

The motorcycle also receives advanced braking assistance, including cornering ABS and different ABS modes. These systems are intended to support braking control in different riding situations.

Other electronic rider assistance features include traction control, wheelie control and engine brake management, depending on the selected equipment and optional packages.

Adaptive cruise control with radar assistance is another important touring feature. It helps adjust the motorcycle's speed according to traffic conditions ahead, reducing the need for constant throttle adjustments on longer rides.

8.8 Inch Touchscreen Display and Connectivity

The new KTM 1390 Super Duke GT EVO receives an 8.8-inch touchscreen TFT instrument display. The larger screen provides access to vehicle information, navigation and electronic settings.

The display includes offline navigation, allowing riders to use stored maps without depending entirely on a continuous smartphone data connection. The system also supports smartphone connectivity and route-related functions.

A USB-C charging port is provided for compatible devices. The updated menu layout is intended to make it easier for riders to access important settings and information.

The motorcycle also features multiple riding modes, allowing riders to adjust the engine and electronic systems according to their requirements.

These technology upgrades are aimed at improving convenience during daily use as well as long-distance touring.

Updated Design and LED Lighting

The 2027 KTM 1390 Super Duke GT EVO receives revised bodywork that combines the aggressive styling of the Super Duke family with the functional requirements of a sport tourer.

The front section features an updated LED headlight arrangement. The lighting system includes central LED units for low and high beams, along with an automatically adjusting daytime running light.

The motorcycle also receives LED cornering lights designed to improve illumination when leaning through bends. A revised lighting sequence and Coming Home function add further convenience.

The adjustable windscreen is designed to provide better wind protection during longer rides. KTM has also revised the seat and handlebar positioning to improve rider comfort.

The handlebars can be adjusted to suit different riding preferences. These changes are intended to make the motorcycle more practical for extended journeys without compromising its sporty character.

Dimensions, Weight and Fuel Tank Capacity

The KTM 1390 Super Duke GT EVO is built around a chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame. The engine forms an important part of the motorcycle's structural layout.

The motorcycle has a wheelbase of approximately 1,491mm and a seat height of 834mm. Its fuel tank capacity is approximately 19 litres, while its weight without fuel is listed at 213kg.

It rides on 17-inch wheels fitted with Michelin Power 6 tyres. The combination is intended to provide road grip and handling suitable for a high-performance sport touring motorcycle.

These dimensions and equipment details indicate that the GT EVO is designed for experienced riders who want a powerful motorcycle with touring-oriented features.

KTM 1390 Super Duke GT EVO Launch and Price

KTM is expected to bring the 2027 1390 Super Duke GT EVO to dealerships in early 2027. However, the company has not yet announced its final price.

The India launch date and local availability have also not been officially confirmed. The motorcycle's availability in India will depend on KTM's market strategy and product plans.

If introduced in India, the GT EVO would enter the premium performance motorcycle segment. Its 1,350cc engine, semi-active suspension, automated transmission and advanced electronics could make it an option for riders looking for a high-performance touring motorcycle.

The final Indian price would depend on import arrangements, taxes, equipment and other market-related factors. Buyers should wait for an official announcement before relying on estimated prices or launch dates.
