Aston Martin Valhalla Spider Debuts With 1,064 HP and a Top Speed of 350 kmph
British luxury carmaker Aston Martin has unveiled the Valhalla Spider, an open-top version of its mid-engined plug-in hybrid supercar. The new model combines high performance with open-air driving and retains the powerful hybrid system used in the Valhalla Coupe. With a claimed top speed of 350 kmph and a 0 to 100 kmph acceleration time of just 2.5 seconds, the Valhalla Spider is positioned as one of the brand's most performance-focused road cars.
The supercar produces a combined output of 1,079 PS, equivalent to approximately 1,064 bhp, and delivers 1,100 Nm of torque. Its powertrain combines a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine with three electric motors. Aston Martin has also revised the aerodynamics and electronic stability systems to maintain performance and handling when the roof is removed. Global deliveries are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027.
Powerful Hybrid Engine and Electric Motors
The Aston Martin Valhalla Spider uses a bespoke 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 828 PS. The combustion engine is supported by three electric motors and a high-performance battery, adding another 251 PS to the system's combined output.
Together, the engine and electric motors generate 1,079 PS and 1,100 Nm of torque. The arrangement is designed to deliver rapid acceleration while supporting precise power delivery and improved vehicle control.
Two electric motors are positioned at the front axle. They help drive the front wheels and provide electric torque vectoring, which can distribute power between the wheels to improve cornering and stability. The third electric motor is integrated with the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and works alongside the V8 engine to drive the rear wheels.
The vehicle also features an electronic differential and an integrated vehicle dynamics control system. These systems coordinate the powertrain, suspension, steering, braking and aerodynamic components to help maintain balanced performance under different driving conditions.
Top Speed of 350 kmph
Performance is one of the main highlights of the Valhalla Spider. Aston Martin claims that the supercar can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.5 seconds and achieve an electronically limited top speed of 350 kmph.
The car has been engineered to maintain its maximum claimed speed even when driven with the roof removed. This makes it the fastest open-cockpit production car in Aston Martin's history, according to the manufacturer.
Customers can choose between a removable fabric roof and an optional carbon fibre hardtop, subject to market availability. When the standard fabric roof is fitted, the maximum speed is limited to 200 kmph. The optional hardtop allows the vehicle to reach its full claimed top speed with the roof in place.
The removable roof gives drivers the flexibility to enjoy open-air motoring while retaining protection from changing weather conditions when required.
Exterior Design and Aerodynamic Features
The Valhalla Spider retains the distinctive proportions of the Valhalla Coupe while introducing several changes for open-top driving. Its mid-engine layout, sculpted bodywork and carbon fibre components contribute to its performance-focused appearance.
The car features Aston Martin's signature dihedral doors, which open upwards. These doors have been revised with a frameless design and improved opening mechanisms. The changes are intended to improve ease of use while preserving the vehicle's distinctive styling.
A redesigned roof scoop sits 35 millimetres higher than the one on the Coupe. This adjustment helps manage airflow and supports cooling requirements when the roof is removed.
The Spider also receives a specially designed wind deflector. It directs airflow away from the occupants while helping maintain airflow towards the engine intake. When not in use, the deflector can be folded into three sections and stored in dedicated compartments within the side sills.
Active aerodynamic elements at the front and rear adjust according to driving conditions. The rear wing rises in Race mode, while the system can also alter aerodynamic settings to balance downforce and drag. Aston Martin claims that the car can generate more than 600 kilograms of downforce with the roof fitted under the specified high-performance conditions.
Chassis, Brakes and Driving Technology
The Valhalla Spider is built around a carbon fibre structure developed with Aston Martin Performance Technologies, the technical consulting arm associated with the company's Formula One team.
The carbon fibre structure is designed to provide a rigid and lightweight foundation for the vehicle. The chassis works with a pushrod front suspension setup and a multi-link rear suspension system to support handling and stability.
Carbon ceramic brakes are fitted to help manage the supercar's high performance. The braking system uses large discs, measuring 410 millimetres at the front and 390 millimetres at the rear.
The vehicle offers several driving modes, including Sport, Sport Plus, Race and EV. These modes adjust the powertrain and vehicle systems to suit different driving situations. The EV mode enables electric driving within the system's available operating limits.
The combination of active aerodynamics, electronic controls and a lightweight carbon fibre structure is intended to deliver consistent handling on both public roads and race circuits.
Interior and Equipment
Inside, the Valhalla Spider features a driver-focused cockpit with carbon fibre detailing and digital displays. A 10.25-inch digital instrument display presents driving information, while a separate 10.25-inch touchscreen handles infotainment functions.
The cabin includes Apple CarPlay compatibility and a digital rear-view mirror. Buyers can also choose an optional Bowers and Wilkins audio system, depending on the market and specification.
A carbon fibre Touring Seat is fitted as standard. It is designed to provide additional comfort and make entering and exiting the vehicle easier when the roof is fitted. Customers who prefer the more supportive carbon fibre seat from the Valhalla Coupe can select it at no additional cost, according to the manufacturer.
Aston Martin's Q personalisation programme also offers opportunities to customise exterior finishes, carbon fibre details and interior materials.
Global Debut and Expected Deliveries
The Valhalla Spider is scheduled to make its global debut at the 2026 Concours at Wynn Las Vegas, running from October 29 to November 1. Deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2027.
Aston Martin has not announced an official price for the Spider in the information available at the time of its unveiling. Pricing and specifications may vary between markets.
The Valhalla Spider expands Aston Martin's hybrid supercar range by combining a powerful petrol engine, electric assistance, advanced aerodynamic technology and a removable roof. Its claimed 350 kmph top speed, rapid acceleration and open-cockpit design make it a significant addition to the company's performance lineup. Buyers will have to wait for market-specific pricing and availability details as the planned delivery period approaches.
