Citroen has strengthened its presence in the Indian passenger vehicle market by introducing new variants of the Aircross and C3. The French automaker has launched the Aircross Turbo Max 5 seater variant alongside the C3 Live O, with prices starting at Rs 5.49 lakh ex showroom. These updates are aimed at offering buyers more flexibility, comfort, and value while retaining the brand’s focus on ride quality and practicality.
The most notable update is the introduction of the Aircross Turbo Max with a 5 seater layout. Until now, the Turbo Max variant was available only with a 7 seater configuration, while the 5 seater option was limited to lower trims such as You and Plus. By removing the third row, Citroen has reworked the interior to provide a more spacious second row and a significantly larger boot area. This change is expected to appeal to customers who prioritise luggage space and rear seat comfort over additional seating capacity.
In the new 5 seater layout, the Aircross gains features that enhance passenger convenience. The second row now comes with a rear centre armrest with integrated cupholders, improving comfort for long journeys. Additionally, the rear seats offer a three step reclining function, allowing occupants to adjust seating posture for better support. These features were earlier restricted to select variants and seating configurations, making their inclusion in the Turbo Max 5 seater a meaningful upgrade.
Despite the interior changes, Citroen has kept the mechanical package unchanged. The Aircross Turbo Max continues to be powered by the same turbocharged petrol engine, delivering a balance of performance and efficiency suitable for urban and highway driving. The suspension setup and overall driving dynamics also remain the same, preserving the comfortable ride quality that the Aircross is known for. The exterior design and overall styling have not been altered, maintaining the familiar look of the model.
Alongside the Aircross update, Citroen has also introduced the C3 Live O variant. Positioned as a more accessible option in the C3 lineup, this variant is expected to attract first time buyers and budget conscious customers. While details of feature additions are limited, the Live O variant strengthens Citroen’s offering in the entry level hatchback segment by improving value without significantly increasing costs.
Citroen’s strategy with these launches appears focused on addressing customer feedback and market demand. The 5 seater Aircross Turbo Max caters to buyers who prefer a spacious two row SUV with a larger boot, while the C3 Live O broadens the appeal of the brand at a lower price point.
With competition intensifying in both the compact SUV and hatchback segments, these updates help Citroen remain competitive by offering practical configurations rather than major mechanical changes. The brand continues to emphasise comfort, usability, and affordability as it looks to expand its footprint in India.
