Citroën India has officially launched the C3 Dark Edition, adding a bold and stylish variant to its popular hatchback lineup. Priced from ₹8.38 lakh (ex-showroom), this special edition enhances the visual appeal of the C3 while retaining the practicality and value it’s known for.
The Dark Edition features a striking all-black exterior theme that includes gloss black ORVMs, blacked-out Citroën badging, black alloy wheels, and a dark roof. This cosmetic upgrade gives the C3 a sportier and more premium appearance, appealing particularly to younger and urban buyers looking for a head-turning hatchback.
On the inside, the cabin also carries the dark theme with black seat upholstery, contrast stitching, a black dashboard finish, and dark door panels. These upgrades are not just visual but also aimed at elevating the cabin experience with a touch of luxury.
Under the hood, the C3 Dark Edition continues with the trusted 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that delivers 110 PS of power and 190 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, offering a punchy performance suited for both city and highway driving. The engine is BS6 Phase 2 compliant, ensuring better emissions control and improved fuel efficiency.
In terms of features, the C3 Dark Edition includes a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, steering-mounted controls, manual air conditioning, power windows, and remote central locking. However, features like rear wipers, alloy spare wheel, or side airbags are still missing, consistent with other trims in the C3 range.
Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, and seatbelt reminders. Though not the most feature-loaded in its class, the C3 continues to emphasize driving comfort and styling.
This launch is part of Citroën’s strategy to refresh its offerings without significantly increasing the price point. The French automaker aims to cater to niche customers who value design and European aesthetics over conventional choices.
Bookings for the Citroën C3 Dark Edition are now open both online and through Citroën’s La Maison dealerships across India. Deliveries are expected to begin shortly.
With this new edition, the C3 will take on rivals like the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, and Maruti Swift, all while standing out with its distinctive design and French flair.
