Hyundai has confirmed plans to launch more affordable EVs tailored for the Indian market in the near future.

Hyundai Motor India, the country’s second-largest car manufacturer, reported a robust sales performance in March 2025, continuing its dominance in the Indian passenger vehicle market. The company’s diverse portfolio and growing focus on customer needs have helped it maintain a strong grip on market share, even amid rising competition.

According to the official data, Hyundai recorded a year-on-year sales increase in March, driven by the continued popularity of its top-performing models, including the Creta, Venue, i20, and the recently launched Exter. These models have struck a balance between style, features, and affordability, catering to a broad spectrum of Indian consumers.

The Creta SUV remains Hyundai’s flagship product in India and continues to lead the mid-size SUV segment. The Venue, with its compact design and tech-savvy features, has also sustained its appeal among urban car buyers. Hyundai’s hatchbacks, such as the i20 and Grand i10 Nios, have maintained steady demand, especially among younger drivers and first-time car owners.

Hyundai’s commitment to electric mobility is also starting to show results. The company has seen a rise in interest for its Kona Electric and Ioniq 5, though these are currently niche offerings. Hyundai has confirmed plans to launch more affordable EVs tailored for the Indian market in the near future.

One of the key factors behind Hyundai’s success is its vast dealership and service network across India. With over 1,300 sales outlets and more than 1,500 service points, the brand has ensured strong after-sales support, enhancing customer satisfaction and retention. The company’s digital initiatives, including online car bookings and virtual showrooms, have further enhanced its reach.

In addition, Hyundai has focused on providing segment-first features and safety enhancements, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) in select models, catering to a safety-conscious customer base. Competitive financing options and exchange benefits have also played a role in boosting buyer confidence.

Despite macroeconomic challenges and increasing input costs, Hyundai has managed to optimize production and sustain supply chain efficiency. The company’s emphasis on localization and operational flexibility has helped it maintain stable pricing and availability.

Looking ahead, Hyundai plans to expand its portfolio with new launches, including more EVs and possibly a compact MPV. Analysts believe that if the brand maintains this momentum and continues its customer-centric strategies, Hyundai is well-positioned to challenge for the top spot in the future.
