Company officials have emphasised that the Nagpur facility is part of Mahindra’s long-term growth strategy, aimed at enhancing production capacity to support both domestic and export markets.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), one of India’s leading automotive and tractor manufacturers, has unveiled plans to build its largest integrated manufacturing facility in Nagpur, Maharashtra. With a planned investment of ₹15,000 crore, this facility is expected to become the company’s biggest production hub in India, marking a significant milestone in Mahindra’s expansion strategy.

The Nagpur plant will integrate automobile and tractor manufacturing under a single site, allowing the company to optimise production efficiency and scale operations for both product categories. By bringing advanced manufacturing techniques and automation into the facility, Mahindra aims to enhance quality, productivity, and competitiveness while meeting the rising domestic and international demand for its vehicles.

The facility will cater to multiple product lines, including Mahindra’s passenger vehicles, utility vehicles, and tractors, alongside electric and hybrid vehicle offerings as the company intensifies its focus on sustainable mobility. Industry experts suggest that this plant could become a benchmark for future greenfield projects in India, given its scale and scope.

Mahindra expects the new Nagpur site to significantly boost employment opportunities in the region, with thousands of direct and indirect jobs likely to be created during construction and operational phases. The facility will also contribute to the local economy through the development of ancillary industries and supply chains, strengthening Maharashtra’s position as a key automotive manufacturing hub in India.

Company officials have emphasised that the Nagpur facility is part of Mahindra’s long-term growth strategy, aimed at enhancing production capacity to support both domestic and export markets. With India emerging as a major hub for automobile and tractor production, the new plant is expected to play a crucial role in helping Mahindra meet rising demand in global markets while maintaining competitive costs and delivery timelines.

In addition to capacity expansion, the facility is expected to integrate cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, including robotics, advanced assembly lines, and quality control systems. The inclusion of these modern production processes will allow Mahindra to maintain high standards of safety, efficiency, and sustainability across its vehicle lineup.

This announcement follows Mahindra’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its manufacturing footprint in India. The company has previously invested in multiple greenfield and expansion projects to increase capacity for both vehicles and tractors. The Nagpur plant is a continuation of this strategy, underlining Mahindra’s commitment to long-term growth, innovation, and competitiveness in the Indian and global automotive sectors.

With the ₹15,000 crore investment, Mahindra’s Nagpur facility is set to become a cornerstone of the company’s manufacturing operations, boosting production volumes, supporting electric mobility initiatives, and reinforcing India’s position as a key global automotive player.
