Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced the launch of the Grand Vitara Phantom Blaq Edition, a special edition of its popular mid-size SUV that brings a bold and distinctive appearance to the model. The new edition builds upon the existing Grand Vitara platform, adding unique styling updates to appeal to customers who prefer a sportier and more aggressive look.
The most notable change in the Phantom Blaq Edition is its all-black exterior treatment. This includes gloss-black paintwork across the body, blacked-out alloy wheels, and a blacked-out front grille that enhances its road presence. The chrome elements found in standard versions have been replaced or toned down to complement the dark theme. The roof rails, ORVMs, and other exterior details also follow the black styling for a cohesive design.
Inside the cabin, Maruti Suzuki has incorporated premium black interior trims, soft-touch materials, and subtle silver accents to maintain a luxurious yet understated look. The upholstery and dashboard have been tailored to match the Phantom Blaq theme, while the feature list remains as comprehensive as the standard Grand Vitara variants.
The special edition continues to offer the same engine choices as the regular model, including a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine and a 1.5-litre strong-hybrid powertrain. Both options are paired with smooth manual or automatic transmissions, while select variants also come with an AllGrip all-wheel-drive system for enhanced performance in challenging conditions.
In terms of features, the Grand Vitara Phantom Blaq Edition is equipped with a high-resolution touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, ventilated seats, and a panoramic sunroof. Safety is also a priority, with multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill-hold assist, rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera included in the package.
Maruti Suzuki has positioned the Phantom Blaq Edition as a lifestyle-oriented SUV for buyers who value both performance and visual appeal. The limited-edition design is aimed at attracting younger audiences and urban customers who prefer vehicles with a strong road presence.
While the company has not announced a separate price list for the Phantom Blaq Edition, it is expected to carry a slight premium over the equivalent standard Grand Vitara variants. Bookings are now open across selected Maruti Suzuki Nexa dealerships in India, with deliveries set to begin in the coming weeks.
The Grand Vitara has been a strong performer for Maruti Suzuki in the mid-size SUV segment since its launch, competing with models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
