Mercedes-Benz India announced on May 9, 2025 a revision in the prices of select models, effective June 1, 2025. The revision applies to select variants of the C-Class, E-Class, GLC, GLE, GLS, EQS and Maybach S-Class. According to the company, the rupee has lost nearly 10% of its value against the euro over the past four months, raising the cost of imported completely built units and components for local assembly.
The company described the first revision as minimal and said it had offset some of the extra cost through greater local production. A second increase of up to 1.5% across the range follows on September 1, 2025; the company said this staggered approach gives customers more time to plan their purchases.
A Necessary Business Adjustment
The increase varies by model, from ₹90,000 on the C 200 to ₹12.2 lakh on the Maybach S 680 (ex-showroom). The GLS 450 4MATIC goes up by about ₹3.1 lakh.
Strategic Timing and Customer Planning
With this announcement, Mercedes-Benz has given potential buyers a window of opportunity to make their purchases before the new pricing takes effect.
Market Implications
Price revisions by luxury carmakers like Mercedes-Benz are often seen as a signal of broader trends within the automobile industry.
Conclusion
The company said monthly instalments would remain largely unaffected through Mercedes-Benz Financial Services plans.
