The modularity of the platform allows Mercedes-Benz to introduce multiple variants tailored for different customer needs while maintaining efficiency and technological consistency across its electric van portfolio.

Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed the VLE, a new all-electric luxury MPV designed to expand the brand’s electric vehicle lineup. Positioned below the more premium VLS in Mercedes-Benz’s upcoming range of electric vans, the VLE is intended to combine luxury, performance, and practicality for family and executive transport markets.

The VLE is the first production model to be built on the brand’s new VAN.EA modular electric van architecture. This platform has been developed to underpin Mercedes-Benz’s future electric MPVs and vans, offering flexibility in wheelbase, powertrain, and interior configurations. The modularity of the platform allows Mercedes-Benz to introduce multiple variants tailored for different customer needs while maintaining efficiency and technological consistency across its electric van portfolio.

Mercedes-Benz will offer the VLE in both standard and long-wheelbase versions. The long-wheelbase model is expected to provide additional interior space, enhancing comfort for passengers and expanding cargo capacity for practical use. Both variants are aimed at providing a premium experience through spacious interiors, high-quality materials, and advanced technology integration.

In terms of performance, the VLE is reported to produce up to 415 horsepower, delivering strong acceleration and refined handling for a luxury MPV. The vehicle is equipped with a high-capacity battery pack capable of offering an estimated driving range of up to 700 kilometers on a single charge. This long range addresses one of the key concerns for buyers of electric vehicles, ensuring that the VLE is suitable for both urban commuting and longer road trips.

The electric MPV is expected to feature advanced driver-assistance systems, infotainment technology, and connectivity options that align with Mercedes-Benz’s standards for luxury vehicles. Safety, comfort, and energy efficiency are central to the VLE’s design philosophy, making it competitive in the growing electric MPV market.

Mercedes-Benz’s introduction of the VLE highlights the company’s strategy to expand its electric vehicle offerings beyond passenger cars into larger vehicle segments. With a focus on modular architecture and scalable powertrains, the VLE sets a precedent for the next generation of electric vans and MPVs from the brand.

The VLE will compete with other luxury electric vans in international markets, catering to families, corporate users, and high-end transport services. Its combination of performance, range, and interior flexibility positions it as a benchmark for luxury electric mobility in the MPV segment.

Mercedes-Benz plans to roll out additional models on the VAN.EA platform in the coming years, emphasizing sustainability, electrification, and premium experiences. The VLE represents a significant step in the company’s transition toward a fully electric future and its commitment to expanding the luxury electric vehicle market.

The electric MPV is expected to feature advanced driver-assistance systems, infotainment technology, and connectivity options that align with Mercedes-Benz’s standards for luxury vehicles.
