Kia India is preparing to introduce the new-generation Kia Seltos SUV on January 2, 2026, marking another significant update to one of its most successful models in the Indian market. Since its launch, the Seltos has played a crucial role in establishing Kia as a strong automotive brand in India, and the upcoming version is expected to further enhance its appeal among buyers in the competitive mid-size SUV segment.
According to industry expectations, the new Kia Seltos will feature subtle yet noticeable exterior updates. These may include a refreshed front grille, revised LED headlamps and daytime running lights, and updated alloy wheel designs. Minor changes to the rear styling, including updated tail lamps and bumper elements, are also anticipated to give the SUV a more modern and premium look.
Inside the cabin, Kia is likely to introduce improved interior materials and a refreshed dashboard layout. The SUV is expected to offer a larger touchscreen infotainment system with updated software, wireless smartphone connectivity, and enhanced connected car features. A fully digital instrument cluster, improved sound system, and upgraded climate control interface could also be part of the package.
Safety is expected to be a major focus for the 2026 Kia Seltos. The SUV may come equipped with additional airbags as standard, along with features such as electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and a 360-degree camera on higher variants. Advanced driver assistance systems are also likely to be offered on select trims, aligning the Seltos with evolving safety norms and customer expectations in India.
In terms of powertrain, the new Seltos is expected to continue with familiar petrol and diesel engine options, including turbocharged variants. These engines are likely to be paired with multiple transmission choices such as manual, automatic, and dual-clutch options to cater to a wide range of buyers. The engines are expected to meet upcoming emission standards while delivering balanced performance and fuel efficiency.
Pricing for the new Kia Seltos is expected to remain competitive, with a slight premium over the outgoing model due to feature additions and safety upgrades. The SUV will continue to compete with key rivals including the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and Toyota Hyryder.
With the launch scheduled for early 2026, Kia India aims to start the year on a strong note. The updated Seltos is expected to attract both new buyers and existing customers looking to upgrade, reinforcing Kia’s presence in one of India’s most popular SUV segments.
