Skoda Auto India has officially announced that it will launch the new-generation Kodiaq SUV on April 17. The premium 7-seater SUV, known for its spacious cabin, solid build quality, and European styling, is set to receive a major update, making it one of the most anticipated launches in the SUV segment this year.
The new Kodiaq is expected to arrive with a completely redesigned front fascia, sleeker LED headlamps, and a bolder grille. The overall styling retains Skoda’s sharp design language while adding a more aerodynamic profile and new alloy wheel options. The rear section is also expected to get updated LED tail lamps and a refreshed bumper, giving the SUV a modern and upscale appearance.
Inside, the 2025 Kodiaq is likely to feature a revamped dashboard layout, a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a fully digital instrument cluster. Other expected highlights include ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control, and premium upholstery.
In terms of performance, Skoda is expected to continue offering the Kodiaq with its 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The engine will now be tuned for improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions to comply with the latest BS6 Phase 2 norms. The SUV will also come with Skoda’s 4x4 all-wheel drive system in higher variants, appealing to those looking for both luxury and capability.
On the safety front, the new Kodiaq is likely to come equipped with features like multiple airbags, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, blind spot detection, and a 360-degree camera. These upgrades will further enhance the SUV’s credentials as a family-friendly and premium offering.
With competition heating up in the ₹40–₹50 lakh SUV bracket, the new Skoda Kodiaq will take on rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and MG Gloster. Skoda is expected to price the SUV competitively to attract both loyal customers and new buyers.
Commenting on the upcoming launch, Petr Šolc, Brand Director of Skoda Auto India, said, “The new Kodiaq reflects our commitment to bringing world-class products to Indian roads. With improved design, features, and performance, we’re confident the SUV will set new benchmarks in its category.”
Bookings are expected to open soon after the official launch on April 17, with deliveries likely to begin by mid-2025. Skoda will announce full specifications and pricing during the launch event.
