Features such as a touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, steering mounted controls, and digital instrument display are likely to be included.

Nissan is preparing to strengthen its presence in the Indian market with the expected launch of the Gravite, a new multi purpose vehicle based on the same platform as the Renault Triber. The Gravite is being positioned as a compact and affordable MPV, aimed at families looking for a practical and budget friendly vehicle with flexible seating options.

The Nissan Gravite is expected to be developed on the CMF A Plus platform, which underpins the Renault Triber and Nissan Magnite. This platform allows for cost efficiency while supporting multiple body styles. Although the core structure is likely to be shared, Nissan is expected to differentiate the Gravite through exterior design updates and interior enhancements.

In terms of design, the Gravite may feature Nissan’s signature grille, revised headlamps, and a slightly altered front and rear bumper layout to distinguish it from the Triber. Alloy wheel designs and body colour options could also vary. Despite the similarities in dimensions, Nissan is likely to focus on giving the Gravite a more premium visual appeal.

Inside the cabin, the Gravite is expected to offer a modular seating layout, potentially with a seven seat configuration similar to the Triber. Features such as a touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, steering mounted controls, and digital instrument display are likely to be included. Nissan may also introduce improved seat materials and cabin trims to set the model apart.

On the powertrain front, the Gravite is expected to use a petrol engine similar to the one found in the Triber. This could include a naturally aspirated petrol unit paired with a manual gearbox, along with an automated manual transmission option. A turbo petrol engine variant may also be considered at a later stage, depending on market demand.

Safety is expected to be a key focus, with standard features likely to include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and seatbelt reminders. Higher variants could offer additional safety features in line with updated regulations.

Industry observers believe the Nissan Gravite will be priced competitively to appeal to buyers in the entry level MPV segment. It is expected to compete with models such as the Renault Triber and other compact people movers available in India.

While Nissan has not officially announced the launch date or full specifications, the Gravite is expected to make its debut in India within the next year. The model is part of Nissan’s broader strategy to expand its product lineup and improve its market share in the country.
