Skoda Auto India has announced a series of product updates aimed at strengthening its SUV portfolio in the country. The Czech carmaker has revealed the facelifted version of the Skoda Kushaq, featuring refreshed exterior styling and enhanced technology, while simultaneously introducing two new variants for the Skoda Kylaq SUV. The new Kylaq trims, named Classic Plus and Prestige Plus, are positioned to make premium features, including the sunroof, more affordable for buyers.

The Skoda Kushaq facelift brings subtle yet noticeable design changes to keep the midsize SUV competitive in a crowded segment. Updates include revised front and rear styling elements, refreshed alloy wheel designs, and minor cosmetic enhancements that align the Kushaq with Skoda’s latest global design language. In addition to the Kushaq update, Skoda has revised the variant lineup of the Kylaq SUV by introducing the Classic Plus and Prestige Plus trims. These new variants sit between the existing trims and are designed to bridge the gap between affordability and premium features. One of the most significant highlights of this update is the wider availability of the sunroof feature, which is now offered at a more accessible price point than before.

The Classic Plus variant is aimed at customers who want additional comfort and convenience features over the base model without a substantial increase in cost. It adds value-focused upgrades while retaining the core strengths of the Kylaq, such as solid build quality, efficient engines and practical interior space. The Prestige Plus variant, positioned higher in the lineup, caters to buyers seeking a more premium experience with features like a sunroof, upgraded infotainment, enhanced interior finishes and additional comfort features.

By restructuring the Kylaq variant lineup, Skoda aims to attract a broader range of buyers, including first-time SUV customers and those looking to upgrade from smaller cars. The move also reflects changing consumer preferences in India, where features such as sunroofs, connected technology and premium interiors are increasingly influencing buying decisions, even in more affordable segments.

From a strategic standpoint, these updates underline Skoda Auto India’s focus on increasing its market relevance through feature-rich offerings and competitive pricing. The introduction of new variants allows the brand to offer better value without significantly increasing entry-level prices, helping it compete more effectively against rivals in the compact SUV category.

With the Kushaq facelift and the expanded Kylaq lineup, Skoda continues to refine its product strategy in India. The updates are expected to boost showroom interest and strengthen Skoda’s position in both the midsize and compact SUV segments, where competition remains intense and customer expectations continue to rise.
