These changes are aimed at giving the SUV a more modern and premium appearance while retaining its familiar design identity.

Skoda is expected to introduce a facelifted version of the Kushaq compact SUV in 2026, according to industry sources. Although the Czech automaker has not officially confirmed the timeline, reports indicate that the update will bring significant cosmetic and feature enhancements to keep the model fresh in India’s highly competitive mid-size SUV market. Since its launch, the Kushaq has played a key role in Skoda’s India 2.0 strategy and remains one of the brand’s strongest sellers in the country.

The upcoming facelift is expected to feature several exterior design changes. These may include a revised front grille, updated bumper design, new LED headlamp signatures, and refreshed alloy wheel options. Subtle styling updates at the rear, including tweaked tail lamps and redesigned bumper elements, are also likely. These changes are aimed at giving the SUV a more modern and premium appearance while retaining its familiar design identity.

Inside the cabin, the facelifted Skoda Kushaq is expected to receive upgrades in terms of materials, comfort, and technology. The dashboard could be updated with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, improved connectivity features such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an enhanced digital instrument cluster. Skoda may also introduce additional safety features, including more airbags, advanced driver assistance technologies, and improved driver monitoring systems to meet evolving safety standards.

On the powertrain front, the mechanical setup is likely to remain unchanged. The current Kushaq is offered with two turbo-petrol engine options, and these are expected to continue with necessary emission updates to meet future regulatory norms. Gearbox options, including manual and automatic transmissions, are also likely to remain the same to retain the SUV’s performance and driving dynamics.

Market experts believe that the facelift is part of Skoda’s long-term strategy to maintain strong presence in the compact SUV segment, which sees intense competition from rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Consumer demand for updated features, better connectivity, and enhanced safety has increased in recent years, making regular product updates essential for sustained market success.

The current Skoda Kushaq has been praised for its build quality, handling, and turbo-petrol performance. However, competition in the segment has intensified with frequent updates from rival brands. The facelift is expected to address these challenges by offering a more value-packed proposition without significantly increasing the price.

In terms of pricing, industry analysts expect the facelifted Kushaq to carry a slight premium over the current model, depending on the extent of upgrades introduced. The company is also expected to continue offering multiple variants to cater to a wide range of customers.

Skoda is likely to reveal more details about the facelift closer to the launch period. Until then, the information remains based on market speculation and supplier-level inputs. Once officially unveiled, the facelifted Kushaq is expected to strengthen Skoda’s foothold in the Indian SUV market and appeal to both existing customers and new buyers seeking a premium compact SUV experience.

The dashboard could be updated with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, improved connectivity features such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an enhanced digital instrument cluster.
