Subaru has announced the pricing and full feature list of the 2026 Ascent, its largest SUV offering. The three-row SUV continues to target family buyers who value space, safety, and all-weather capability. With a strong emphasis on practicality and reliability, the updated 2026 model builds upon the strengths of its predecessors while introducing subtle but meaningful enhancements.
The 2026 Subaru Ascent will be available in multiple trims including Base, Premium, Onyx Edition, Limited, and Touring. The starting price is expected to be competitive within the mid-size SUV segment, beginning around USD 35,000 for the base variant. The higher-end Touring trim will cross the USD 49,000 mark and come fully loaded with luxury and tech features.
All trims come standard with Subaru's signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and the EyeSight Driver Assist Technology package, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. These features ensure that the Ascent continues Subaru’s tradition of prioritizing passenger safety.
Powering the 2026 Ascent is a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 260 horsepower, mated to a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission. This setup is known for delivering smooth performance along with reasonable fuel economy. The Ascent also maintains a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds, making it suitable for weekend adventures with trailers or boats.
Interior upgrades include improved cabin insulation, a refined layout, and more intuitive controls. The SUV comfortably seats seven or eight passengers depending on the seating configuration. Premium materials, an available panoramic moonroof, and multiple USB charging ports across all three rows enhance the in-cabin experience. A new 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, standard on all variants, supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Subaru has also paid attention to practical needs. The Ascent features ample cargo space, with up to 86.5 cubic feet available when the second and third rows are folded. Roof rails, power rear liftgate (in higher trims), and underfloor storage options further increase convenience for families.
Another noteworthy addition is the Cabin Connect system, which uses onboard speakers to help the driver communicate with rear-seat passengers more clearly. For cold-weather regions, heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel, and remote engine start offer extra comfort.
The exterior design of the 2026 Ascent remains largely unchanged but includes subtle updates such as revised front and rear styling elements and new wheel designs. LED headlights and taillights are now standard across all variants, giving the SUV a modern and premium appearance.
Subaru continues to offer a five-year warranty on the powertrain and includes complimentary scheduled maintenance for a limited period in certain markets. While the Ascent is primarily sold in North American and select global markets, its combination of safety, utility, and comfort makes it a relevant vehicle for international SUV buyers seeking a dependable family vehicle.
With the launch of the 2026 Ascent, Subaru reaffirms its commitment to delivering safe, family-oriented SUVs backed by proven technology and real-world versatility.
