Japanese automaker Toyota has posted strong sales performance in India for February 2026, recording a total of 34,034 units, up 20 per cent compared to 28,414 units sold in the same month in 2025. The growth underscores Toyota’s continued appeal among Indian consumers and highlights the company’s robust strategy to balance domestic demand with expanding export operations.
A key contributor to the sales increase was domestic demand, which accounted for 30,737 units in February 2026, a 16 per cent rise from 26,414 units in February 2025. The increase reflects sustained interest across Toyota’s product portfolio, including its popular SUVs, sedans, and compact cars. Models like the Toyota Fortuner, Innova Crysta, and Urban Cruiser have consistently contributed to strong sales figures, supported by the company’s focus on delivering quality, reliability, and service across India.
The growth is further supported by a rise in exports, which have become an increasingly important segment for Toyota India. Rising demand from global markets has allowed Toyota to leverage its production capabilities in India, supplying vehicles to several international markets. This export momentum complements domestic sales, ensuring balanced overall growth and enhancing Toyota’s global competitiveness.
Toyota’s sales strategy emphasizes market segmentation, product diversification, and customer-centric initiatives. In addition to conventional petrol and diesel offerings, Toyota continues to expand its hybrid and electric vehicle portfolio to align with evolving consumer preferences and government policies promoting cleaner mobility. These efforts not only drive sales but also strengthen the brand’s positioning as a sustainable and forward-looking automotive leader.
The sales figures for February 2026 also indicate a strong recovery and growth trend for the Indian automotive sector, despite global uncertainties and supply chain challenges. Toyota’s ability to sustain double-digit growth year-on-year highlights operational resilience, efficient production planning, and strong dealer network performance across urban and semi-urban markets.
Industry analysts note that Toyota’s consistent sales performance can be attributed to a combination of brand loyalty, product reliability, and ongoing promotional initiatives, including attractive financing options and festive campaigns. Furthermore, Toyota’s after-sales service network has enhanced customer confidence, ensuring repeat purchases and referrals.
Looking ahead, Toyota aims to maintain its growth trajectory in 2026 by introducing updated variants, expanding its EV and hybrid portfolio, and strengthening export ties. The February 2026 sales report reinforces Toyota India’s commitment to meeting consumer expectations while strategically balancing domestic and international demand.
