While specific technical details and pricing have not yet been officially revealed, industry insiders suggest that the new scooters and bikes could offer a range of 100-120 km on a single charge and come with essential smart features such as digital displays, app connectivity, and fast charging capabilities.

Ather Energy, one of India’s leading electric vehicle manufacturers, has announced plans to broaden its reach by launching a new range of affordable electric scooters and motorcycles. Known for its premium electric scooters like the Ather 450X and Ather 450S, the company is now shifting focus towards the budget segment, aiming to bring eco-friendly mobility solutions to a larger segment of Indian consumers.

The upcoming models are expected to be priced significantly lower than Ather’s existing offerings, making them more accessible to middle-class buyers. This strategic move comes in response to the increasing demand for cost-effective and sustainable transportation, especially in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

Ather’s Co-founder and CEO, Tarun Mehta, stated, “Our goal is to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility across India. With our new affordable line, we want to ensure that high-quality EVs are within reach of every Indian household.” He further added that these new models will not compromise on performance, safety, or technology.

Ather Energy is also investing heavily in expanding its manufacturing capacity and charging infrastructure. The company recently inaugurated a new production facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, which will support the rollout of these budget-friendly EVs. Additionally, Ather plans to enhance its Ather Grid charging network by adding more public charging stations across major cities and towns.

This initiative aligns well with India’s EV Policy goals and the government's push for clean energy and sustainable urban transport. Subsidies and incentives under the FAME II scheme are expected to further benefit Ather’s new product line.

The launch of affordable electric two-wheelers by Ather Energy could potentially disrupt the Indian two-wheeler market, challenging traditional petrol-powered bikes and scooters. It also places Ather in direct competition with other EV players such as Ola Electric, TVS, and Hero Electric.

As Ather gears up for this major expansion, industry analysts are optimistic about the company’s future. With innovation, affordability, and performance at its core, Ather Energy seems poised to make electric mobility mainstream in India.
