The interiors are expected to offer a premium experience, featuring a digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system, connected car features, and sustainable material options.

Tata Motors has commenced bookings for the all-electric version of its popular SUV, the Harrier EV, in India. The move marks another milestone in Tata’s growing electric vehicle portfolio and reflects the company’s commitment to expanding clean mobility solutions in the Indian market. The Harrier EV was first showcased in concept form at the Auto Expo and has since garnered significant public interest.

The Tata Harrier EV will be available in two configurations: front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD), offering consumers a wider choice based on driving preference and performance needs. This makes it one of the first mass-market electric SUVs in India to offer both drivetrain options.

The vehicle is built on Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture, which is an advanced version of the company’s existing platform adapted specifically for electric vehicles. This modular architecture supports larger battery packs, enhanced performance, and better interior space, while maintaining robust structural safety.

In terms of design, the Harrier EV retains the bold and muscular appearance of the ICE version but introduces EV-specific elements such as a closed-off grille, redesigned LED headlamps, aerodynamic wheels, and a refreshed rear profile. The interiors are expected to offer a premium experience, featuring a digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system, connected car features, and sustainable material options.

Although Tata Motors has not officially revealed the full specifications, it is expected that the Harrier EV will come with a driving range of approximately 400 to 500 kilometres on a single charge, depending on the variant. It will likely support fast charging and multiple drive modes, and may include regenerative braking for improved energy efficiency.

The addition of an AWD variant will enhance off-road capabilities and improve overall driving dynamics, making the Harrier EV suitable for a variety of road conditions. This feature is expected to appeal to adventure-oriented buyers who seek performance along with zero-emission mobility.

Customers interested in purchasing the Harrier EV can now place bookings at authorised Tata Motors dealerships across India or via the company’s official website. The booking amount may vary by dealership and location. Deliveries are expected to begin shortly after the official launch, which is anticipated later this year.

Industry experts view the launch of the Harrier EV as a significant development in India’s electric vehicle sector, which continues to evolve with increasing demand and government support for cleaner mobility. Tata Motors already leads the electric passenger vehicle segment in India with models such as the Nexon EV and Tiago EV, and the addition of the Harrier EV will further strengthen its position.

The pricing for the Harrier EV has not yet been disclosed, but it is expected to be positioned competitively in the premium electric SUV segment. Tata Motors has confirmed that more details, including variant-wise features, specifications, and exact range figures, will be shared closer to the official launch.
