The claimed driving range could be up to 344 kilometers with the smaller battery and up to 543 kilometers with the larger battery. Electric motor output is expected to be 144 PS in entry variants and 174 PS in higher trims with torque around 193 Nm. These figures place the SUV among the strongest long range EVs in its category.

Safety will play a central role in the new Toyota EV. The electric SUV could come equipped with seven airbags electronic stability control tyre pressure monitoring system parking sensors and a 360 degree camera. Higher variants are also expected to include Level 2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control lane keeping assistance automatic emergency braking and blind spot detection. These technologies will enhance driver confidence and align with global safety standards.

Toyota plans to officially unveil the Urban Cruiser EV on January 20 2026. Market launch is likely to follow in February 2026 with deliveries starting soon after.
