VinFast’s VF6 and VF7 will mark the brand’s formal entry into the Indian electric SUV segment, competing against existing players like Tata, MG, Hyundai, and BYD.

VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, has opened pre-bookings for its upcoming electric SUVs—the VF6 and VF7—in the Indian market. The launch of both models is scheduled for the upcoming festive season, as the company prepares to enter India’s growing EV space with aggressive pricing and international design standards.

VinFast’s VF6 and VF7 will mark the brand’s formal entry into the Indian electric SUV segment, competing against existing players like Tata, MG, Hyundai, and BYD. The company had earlier announced its plans to invest in India by setting up a manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. While production is yet to commence, the launch of these models signals the start of VinFast’s consumer operations in the country.

The VF6 is a compact electric SUV designed for urban users, while the VF7 is a slightly larger, mid-size SUV targeting families and long-distance drivers. Both models feature futuristic design language with LED lighting, sculpted body lines, and aerodynamic profiles. The interiors of both vehicles are expected to include a digital driver display, a large infotainment screen, and support for connected features such as real-time navigation, vehicle diagnostics, and over-the-air updates.

VinFast has claimed that the VF6 will offer a driving range of up to 400 kilometres, while the VF7 could offer up to 450 kilometres on a single charge under standard test conditions. Battery and powertrain configurations are expected to include both standard and extended-range variants. Fast charging support will be available, allowing 10 to 80 percent charging in under an hour depending on the charging infrastructure used.

The company has yet to announce official pricing, but industry sources suggest that the VF6 may be priced starting around Rs 24 lakh, while the VF7 could begin at approximately Rs 30 lakh. Both models will likely be offered in multiple variants to cater to a wide range of consumers. Pricing details and variant features are expected to be announced closer to the official launch.

VinFast has opened pre-bookings through its official Indian website and select partner dealerships in metro cities. Customers can register by submitting basic contact details and choosing a preferred variant. Pre-booking amounts are fully refundable, allowing flexibility for interested buyers. The company has stated that early customers may receive priority delivery once sales begin after the festive season.

With India’s electric vehicle sector rapidly expanding, the entry of VinFast adds a new dimension to the competition. The Vietnamese company is expected to bring international experience in electric mobility and aims to localise production in the long term. Its commitment to expanding infrastructure, including charging stations and service centres, will be a key factor in gaining consumer trust.

In conclusion, the pre-bookings for VinFast VF6 and VF7 mark a significant step in the brand’s India journey. As the festive season approaches, the upcoming launch will provide Indian EV buyers with new options that promise a blend of design, performance, and technology.

The interiors of both vehicles are expected to include a digital driver display, a large infotainment screen, and support for connected features such as real-time navigation, vehicle diagnostics, and over-the-air updates.
