Applicants need to register using a valid email ID and mobile number, fill in personal and academic details, upload the required documents, and pay the application fee through the available online payment modes.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the registration window for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 will reopen on December 27. This move provides another opportunity for candidates who were unable to apply during the earlier registration phase. Interested and eligible applicants can submit their forms through the official website, ctet.nic.in.

CTET is a national-level eligibility examination conducted by CBSE for candidates aspiring to become teachers in Classes I to VIII in central government schools. Qualifying the CTET is mandatory for recruitment in institutions such as Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas and other schools under the administrative control of the central government. Many state governments and private schools also consider CTET scores while recruiting teachers.

According to CBSE, candidates must ensure they meet the prescribed eligibility requirements before applying. For Paper I, applicants must have the qualifications required to teach Classes I to V, while Paper II is meant for those intending to teach Classes VI to VIII. Candidates aiming to teach Classes I to VIII must appear for both papers.

The application process will be conducted entirely online. Applicants need to register using a valid email ID and mobile number, fill in personal and academic details, upload the required documents, and pay the application fee through the available online payment modes. CBSE has advised candidates to carefully verify all entered details before final submission, as corrections may be restricted after the closing date.

The CTET 2026 examination is expected to be conducted in computer-based test mode at designated examination centres across the country. The test will consist of multiple-choice questions covering child development and pedagogy, language proficiency, mathematics, environmental studies, and subject-specific content for Paper II. The CTET certificate remains valid for a lifetime, as per current guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education.

CBSE has also advised candidates to regularly check the official CTET website for updates related to exam dates, admit cards and other important announcements. Any changes to the schedule or exam guidelines will be communicated through official notifications only.

With the reopening of the registration window, aspirants are encouraged to complete the application process well before the deadline to avoid technical issues. Further details regarding the examination schedule and admit card release are expected to be announced in due course.

Candidates aiming to teach Classes I to VIII must appear for both papers.
