The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the final answer key for the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses (CUET UG) 2025 , following widespread student protests and representations pointing out discrepancies in the previously released version.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the final answer key for the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses (CUET UG) 2025, following widespread student protests and representations pointing out discrepancies in the previously released version. The revision came after thousands of candidates submitted challenges to specific questions across subjects, leading the NTA to conduct a fresh review with academic experts.

The revised answer key, published just ahead of the result declaration, impacts the final scores of many candidates. As a result, students can expect changes in their percentile rankings and eligibility for admissions to central universities and other participating institutions. The NTA has clarified that the changes were made based on credible academic inputs and only after thorough deliberation on each challenged question.

This year’s CUET UG exam saw participation from over 13 lakh students across India. The examination plays a crucial role in the undergraduate admissions process for prestigious universities such as Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Jamia Millia Islamia, and others. Due to the high stakes involved, students were quick to identify issues in some of the provisional answer keys initially released.

Following the release of the provisional answer key, candidates were given a window to raise objections by paying a nominal fee per question. Over two lakh objections were received, prompting the NTA to convene subject matter experts to evaluate the concerns. Based on this review, several corrections were made in the final answer key.

Student protests erupted on social media and in academic circles, urging the NTA to ensure a transparent and accountable process. Many students alleged that incorrect answers in the key could cost them valuable marks, affecting their chances of securing a seat in their preferred university or program. Teachers and coaching institutes also echoed these concerns and provided documented evidence of inconsistencies.

In response, the NTA released an official statement assuring students of their commitment to fair evaluation. The agency reiterated that its policies include mechanisms to address such grievances in a time-bound and academically sound manner. The statement also noted that revised answer keys are an essential part of any standardized testing system and help maintain the credibility of the evaluation process.

Educational experts have welcomed the move, calling it a positive step toward building trust in national-level competitive exams. They also emphasized the importance of offering students a clear redressal mechanism in future exam cycles to prevent unrest and confusion.

With the final answer key now revised, students are advised to monitor the official NTA website for their updated scorecards. Counseling and admission processes based on the CUET UG 2025 results are expected to begin shortly after the results are published.

This development reinforces the need for continuous improvement in exam administration and greater responsiveness to student feedback in India’s rapidly evolving education landscape.
