In a significant move towards inclusive education, the Education Minister has officially launched the MBA study materials in Odia for the students of Odisha enrolled in the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) program. This initiative aims to make education more accessible to students from regional areas, particularly those who prefer to learn in their native language. The launch of these study materials is expected to benefit a large number of students pursuing an MBA through IGNOU, enabling them to grasp course content more easily in Odia.
The government has been actively working to promote regional languages in the education sector, and this launch is part of a broader effort to ensure that students from all linguistic backgrounds can benefit from higher education without facing language barriers. By offering study materials in Odia, IGNOU is not only making education more inclusive but also ensuring that students from rural and underserved areas can access quality learning materials in a language they are comfortable with.
Speaking at the event, the Education Minister emphasized the importance of regional languages in education, noting that it is vital for students to have access to academic resources in their mother tongue to enhance understanding and retention of knowledge. This initiative is expected to encourage more students from Odisha to pursue higher education and strengthen the educational foundation in the region.
IGNOU, which has been at the forefront of providing distance learning opportunities, continues to expand its reach with the addition of regional language materials. This launch is a step forward in promoting educational equity across India.
