The directive, issued by the Directorate of Elementary Education, aims to integrate modern technology into teaching practices and improve the overall learning experience for students.

The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has mandated the use of the "Manarkeni" app by teachers in government schools to enhance classroom learning. The directive, issued by the Directorate of Elementary Education, aims to integrate modern technology into teaching practices and improve the overall learning experience for students. Despite the app being developed and made available to teachers and students, its usage has been reported to be minimal. To address this, the department has instructed all teachers to download the app on devices such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, smartboards, or computer lab systems. Additionally, they can use the web portal https://manarkeni.tnschools.gov.in to access educational videos and resources.

Teachers are required to incorporate the app’s resources into their classroom activities, leveraging the educational videos created by the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT). These videos align with the state curriculum and are designed to make lessons more engaging. The circular also emphasizes the need to create awareness about the app among parents, encouraging them to support their children’s learning at home.

District and block-level education officers have been directed to ensure the app’s effective implementation in schools under their jurisdiction. Regular monitoring and supervision will be conducted to verify compliance. Furthermore, starting February, all government elementary and middle schools must conduct computer-aided teaching sessions using the app to promote interactive learning.

The "Manarkeni" app represents a step towards modernizing the education system in Tamil Nadu by leveraging technology to improve teaching and learning outcomes. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education in state-run schools, benefiting both teachers and students.
