The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has officially announced the examination schedule for the CA May 2026 session, offering important clarity to students enrolled in the Foundation, Intermediate, and Final courses. The release of the timetable marks a crucial step for aspirants planning their preparation for one of the most demanding professional qualifications in the country.
According to the ICAI notification, the CA May 2026 examinations will be conducted in offline mode at examination centres across India and select overseas locations. The exams will follow the existing pattern and syllabus prescribed by the institute. Candidates appearing for the Foundation, Intermediate, or Final levels are advised to carefully review the subject-wise exam dates to avoid any confusion during preparation.
The CA Foundation examination will cover four papers, including accounting, business laws, quantitative aptitude, and business economics. These exams are designed to assess students’ conceptual understanding and analytical abilities. The Foundation course serves as the entry-level qualification for students aspiring to become chartered accountants.
The CA Intermediate examination is divided into two groups, each consisting of three papers. Group one includes advanced accounting, corporate and other laws, and taxation. Group two focuses on cost and management accounting, auditing and ethics, and financial management and strategic management. Candidates can appear for one or both groups based on eligibility and readiness.
The CA Final examination represents the last stage of the CA qualification. It is also divided into two groups, covering advanced financial reporting, strategic financial management, advanced auditing, corporate laws, taxation, and multidisciplinary case studies. The Final exams test not only technical knowledge but also professional judgment and application skills.
ICAI has advised candidates to complete the exam application process within the prescribed timeline once the registration window opens. Details regarding exam form submission, fees, correction windows, and admit card downloads will be published separately on the official ICAI website. Students must ensure that their registration status and eligibility requirements are fulfilled before applying.
The institute has also reiterated the importance of following examination guidelines strictly. Candidates will be required to carry valid admit cards and identity proof to the examination centres. Any changes or updates to the schedule, if required, will be communicated through official ICAI notifications.
Education experts recommend that aspirants use the official timetable to create a structured study plan. With limited time available before the May 2026 exams, consistent revision, mock tests, and conceptual clarity will be essential for success. Students are advised to avoid relying on unofficial sources and instead track announcements directly from ICAI.
The release of the CA May 2026 exam schedule provides aspirants with a clear roadmap to plan their studies and approach the examinations with confidence.
