The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has officially released the admit cards for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2026. Candidates who have successfully registered for the examination can now access and download their hall tickets from the JOAPS portal at joaps.iitb.ac.in. The JAM 2026 examination is scheduled to be held on February 15 at various test centres across the country.
IIT JAM is a national-level entrance examination conducted for admission to postgraduate science programmes such as MSc, Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD Dual Degree, and other related courses offered by Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research, and other participating institutes. Every year, thousands of students appear for the exam, making it one of the most competitive postgraduate entrance tests in the country.
The admit card is a mandatory document for appearing in the examination. It contains important information including the candidate’s name, registration number, photograph, signature, test paper, exam date and time, reporting time, and the complete address of the allotted examination centre. Candidates are strongly advised to check all the details mentioned on the admit card carefully. In case of any discrepancy, they should immediately contact the JAM authorities through the official communication channels.
To download the IIT JAM 2026 admit card, candidates need to visit the JOAPS website and log in using their enrolment ID or email ID along with the password. After logging in, the admit card link will be available on the dashboard. Candidates should download the hall ticket and take a clear printout for use on the exam day.
The examination on February 15 will be conducted in a computer-based format. Each test paper will be of three hours duration and will include a mix of multiple-choice questions, multiple-select questions, and numerical answer type questions. The medium of the examination will be English. Candidates must report to the exam centre well before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card to complete the verification and biometric procedures.
Along with the admit card, candidates must carry a valid government-issued photo identification proof such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID, driving licence, or passport. Entry to the examination hall will not be permitted without these documents. Electronic gadgets, study material, and personal belongings are not allowed inside the examination centre.
After the successful conduct of the exam, IIT Bombay is expected to release the JAM 2026 results in March. Qualified candidates will then be eligible to participate in the admission process through the JAM Online Application Processing System.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official JAM website for updates related to results, counselling schedules, and admission procedures.
