The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has announced the Round 4 seat allotment results for the 2025 counselling session. Candidates who registered and filled in their choices for engineering admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other government-funded technical institutions can now view their seat allotment status on the official JoSAA website — josaa.nic.in.
JoSAA Counselling is conducted every year to facilitate the admission process into prestigious technical institutions in India, based on the ranks secured in the JEE Main and JEE Advanced examinations. The 2025 counselling process has been progressing through multiple rounds, and Round 4 results mark a crucial stage for candidates hoping to secure seats in top institutions.
To check the results, candidates need to visit the official website and log in using their JEE application number and password. After logging in, they can download their provisional seat allotment letter, which contains details such as the allotted institute, branch, category, and required steps to confirm the seat.
Candidates who have been allotted a seat in Round 4 must proceed with the online reporting process, which includes confirming the seat, uploading required documents for verification, and paying the seat acceptance fee. The deadlines for these steps are mentioned in the counselling schedule provided by JoSAA.
There are three options available to candidates at this stage:
- Freeze – To accept the allotted seat and stop participating in further rounds.
- Float – To accept the seat while remaining open to higher preferences in upcoming rounds.
- Slide – To accept the seat while waiting for a better course within the same institution.
Those who do not complete the online reporting process within the specified time frame may lose their allotted seat. It is important for candidates to follow the official instructions carefully to avoid disqualification.
Students who were not allotted a seat in this round will still have a chance in the upcoming rounds. The counselling process will continue with subsequent rounds as per the official schedule. JoSAA will also open a final round for seat allocation followed by CSAB counselling for vacant seats, if any, after JoSAA rounds are completed.
Authorities have advised candidates to refrain from relying on unofficial sources or third-party websites for updates. All official information, announcements, and documents related to the counselling process will be made available only on josaa.nic.in.
In case of any confusion or technical issues, candidates can reach out to helpline numbers provided on the JoSAA portal or visit designated reporting centres for guidance.
The JoSAA counselling process ensures merit-based, transparent allocation of seats in India’s top engineering colleges, and candidates are encouraged to stay informed and meet all deadlines to secure admission.
