The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025 was recently conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), and thousands of aspirants across the country are now awaiting the release of the provisional answer key. While NTA has not yet announced an official release date, past years provide valuable insights into when candidates can expect the answer key.
Expected Release Date Based on Previous Years
Historically, NTA releases the NEET UG provisional answer key within 5 to 10 days of the exam. For example:
- In 2023, the exam was held on May 7, and the answer key was released on June 4.
- In 2022, the exam was conducted on July 17, and the answer key was released on August 31.
Given these timelines, students can anticipate the NEET UG 2025 answer key to be published by early to mid-June 2025, depending on the exam date.
How to Check the NEET UG 2025 Answer Key
Once released, candidates can download the provisional answer key by following these steps:

- Click on the “NEET UG 2025 Answer Key” link
- Enter your application number and date of birth

Opportunity to Raise Objections
NTA typically allows a limited window of 48 to 72 hours for students to challenge the provisional answer key. To do so:
- Visit the same NEET portal
- Click on “Challenge Answer Key”
- Select the questions you want to challenge
- Provide supporting evidence or explanation
- Pay a nominal fee (non-refundable) per challenged question
The challenges will be reviewed by a panel of experts. If accepted, necessary corrections will be made before the final answer key is released.
Why the Provisional Answer Key Is Important
The provisional answer key is a crucial document for NEET aspirants. It allows them to:
- Estimate their scores before results
- Get an idea of their chances of qualifying for medical seats
- Prepare for upcoming counselling rounds
Since NEET is the only entrance exam for undergraduate medical programs in India, accurate evaluation of performance is vital for aspirants planning their next steps.
When Will the Final Answer Key and Results Be Declared?
After reviewing objections, NTA will release the final answer key along with the NEET UG 2025 result. This typically happens 10 to 15 days after the provisional key is released.
Conclusion
Students are advised to keep checking the official NEET portal regularly for updates. Staying informed about answer key release dates and objection timelines will help ensure that they can evaluate their performance accurately and take timely action.
