REET 2025: RBSE Introduces Key Changes, Including Fifth Option and Negative Marking

The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has introduced significant changes to the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) for the 2025 exam cycle. As per the latest update, the REET question paper will now feature five answer choices instead of the previous four. Additionally, a negative marking scheme will be implemented for the first time. These changes are expected to impact how candidates approach the exam and are designed to enhance the examination's fairness and accuracy.

Key Changes for REET 2025:

  • Five Answer Options: The question paper will now have five answer choices for each question, up from the previous four. This aims to reduce the chances of guessing and improve the overall integrity of the exam.
  • Negative Marking: A new negative marking scheme has been introduced. Candidates will lose ⅓ mark for every incorrect answer. Moreover, if a candidate leaves a question unanswered without selecting the fifth option, they will also incur negative marking.

RBSE shared the update on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, explaining that the new OMR rule would apply, and candidates must select one of the five options provided for each question. Failing to do so will result in penalty points.

The registration process for the REET 2024-25 exam is already underway. The application window opened on December 16, 2024, and candidates can submit their applications until January 15, 2025. • Level 2 is for those who wish to teach Classes 6 to 8.

Candidates interested in teaching both primary and upper-primary classes must appear for both levels.
