The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, has released the official schedule for the Higher Secondary Second Year (+2) Supplementary Examinations 2025. The exams are being conducted for students who were unable to clear one or more subjects in the annual board exams held earlier this year. This supplementary exam provides these students with an opportunity to improve their results and continue their academic journey without interruption.
According to the announcement, the supplementary exams will begin on June 24, 2025, and continue until July 1, 2025. The detailed timetable has been published on the official DGE Tamil Nadu website: dge.tn.gov.in. Students are advised to download the schedule and begin preparations accordingly.
Examination Details:
The exams will be held in two sessions – forenoon and afternoon – depending on the subject. Students must report to their assigned examination centers well in advance. The admit cards for the supplementary exams will be made available online a week prior to the commencement of the exams. Schools will also provide necessary instructions regarding hall ticket collection and exam protocols.
Subjects Covered:
The supplementary examination includes core subjects from all three streams – Science, Commerce, and Arts. Students are required to reappear only for the subjects they have failed in. Those appearing for practical examinations will also have to attend scheduled lab sessions before the theory exams begin.
Application Process and Fees:
Students who wish to appear for the supplementary exam must complete the registration process through their respective schools or examination centers. The last date to submit the application form along with the required examination fee is May 30, 2025. Late applications will not be entertained, as per DGE guidelines.
Results and Further Education:
The results of the supplementary exams are expected to be declared by the end of July 2025, enabling students to apply for higher education programs without delay. Those who pass will be eligible to join undergraduate courses, vocational training, or other academic streams based on their career interests.
Instructions for Students:
Bring your hall ticket and valid ID proof on all exam days.
Follow all COVID-19 guidelines and general exam protocols.
Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.
Conclusion:
The supplementary exam is a crucial second opportunity for students who narrowly missed passing in the regular board exams. Tamil Nadu’s DGE continues its commitment to ensuring that all students have access to equal academic opportunities and can complete their higher secondary education successfully.
