3(1) Shikha-4/2023-00409 dated 06.11.2024 of the Higher Education Department, Government of Rajasthan, it is informed to the general public that the Government of Rajasthan has banned new admission in OPJS University, Churu, Rajasthan from the session 2024-25 and as per the information, the verification of the degrees issued by the university in the last three sessions is under process by the State Government.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued an official notice highlighting a significant development regarding Om Prakash Jogender Singh (OPJS) University, Churu, Rajasthan. According to the notification, the Rajasthan government has imposed a ban on new admissions to the university for the academic year 2024-25. Furthermore, the degrees issued by the institution over the last three academic sessions are currently under review by the state government.

The notice reads, “As per the letter No. This public notice is issued for the information of students and stakeholders.”

This announcement serves as a caution for students and stakeholders planning to associate with the university. According to reports, the UGC had already taken action against OPJS University in December 2023, barring it from enrolling PhD students. The decision was taken due to the university’s violation of the prescribed guidelines for offering PhD programmes. At the time, the UGC also issued an advisory warning students and parents against taking admissions at the university.

The review of degrees by the Rajasthan government raises concerns about the credibility of the institution’s recent academic activities. This move underscores the importance of ensuring compliance with academic and administrative standards to protect students' interests and the reputation of higher education institutions.

Students, parents, and stakeholders are urged to stay updated on this matter and refer to the official notice available on the UGC website. This action reflects a broader effort by regulatory authorities to maintain the integrity of higher education institutions and ensure quality education across the country.
