The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced a change in the schedule for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024 personality test, citing the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 as the reason. As per the official notification, the personality test originally scheduled for February 5, 2025, has been postponed to February 8, 2025. A total of 48 candidates who were set to appear for interviews on February 5 will now face their interviews on the revised date.
The official notice, available on the UPSC website, states, “Due to notification of Delhi Assembly elections on 05.02.2025, the Personality Tests of Civil Services Exam 2024 scheduled on 05.02.2025 will now be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025.” Candidates can access the notice on the UPSC's official website for complete details and additional instructions.
The personality test is the final and most critical stage of the UPSC CSE selection process. It is designed to evaluate a candidate’s personality traits, decision-making ability, and suitability for a career in civil services. This phase of the selection process commenced on January 7, 2025, and will continue until April 17, 2025. During this period, a total of 2,845 candidates, shortlisted based on their performance in the Mains examination, will be interviewed.
The commission had earlier declared the CSE Mains results on December 10, 2024. The results are available on the UPSC’s official website, and candidates were informed about their selection for the personality test through this notification.
UPSC has assured that all necessary arrangements have been made to accommodate the change in the schedule and ensure a smooth process for the affected candidates. Those appearing for the rescheduled interview on February 8 are advised to double-check their reporting time and venue details, which remain unchanged.
Following the conclusion of the interview rounds, the commission will announce the final results of the UPSC CSE 2024. These results will determine the final list of candidates selected for prestigious posts in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and other central civil services.
The UPSC has urged all candidates to regularly monitor its official website for updates and ensure they comply with the instructions provided. The commission's efficient handling of the rescheduling demonstrates its commitment to maintaining the integrity and smooth functioning of one of the country’s most competitive examinations.
