Angelina Jolie has been cast as the lead in Stitches (also titled Coutures in French), an upcoming film by French director Alice Winocour. The film tells the story of a filmmaker (played by Jolie) whose life becomes intertwined with two other women at Paris Fashion Week. Stitches will be filmed in both French and English, marking a significant project for Jolie in her career.

Produced by Charles Gillibert’s Paris-based company CG Cinema, the film is backed by Closer Media’s William Horberg and Zhang Xin. After her successful directorial venture Paris Memories, Winocour reunites with French distributor Pathe Films, who will handle the distribution of the film in France. International sales for Stitches will be managed by Hanway Films.

This film will also mark Jolie’s return to Paris, where she recently gained critical acclaim for her portrayal of Maria Callas in Maria.
