Kim Taehyung, popularly known as V from global K-pop group BTS, continues to impress fans — this time with his exceptional performance in military service. Despite sustaining a minor injury, V has reportedly secured the top position in target shooting during recent training exercises, according to a fellow soldier serving alongside him.
V, who is currently enlisted in the South Korean military’s elite Capital Defense Command under the Special Task Force of the Military Police, was also honored with an Exemplary Soldier Award. The award is given to personnel who display outstanding discipline, skill, and contribution to their unit.
The news was first revealed through a social media post by a fellow soldier, which quickly gained attention among fans. According to the post, V outperformed his peers in precision shooting drills, showing dedication and accuracy even while recovering from a training-related injury. The soldier also mentioned V’s humble attitude and how he has adjusted well to military life.
“He was injured, but he didn’t let that affect his performance. His focus and discipline are truly admirable,” the post read, praising the K-pop idol’s commitment to duty.
The South Korean military requires all able-bodied men to serve for approximately 18 to 21 months. V enlisted in December 2023 alongside fellow BTS members RM, Jungkook, and Jimin. As part of the Special Task Force, V underwent rigorous training designed for high-risk tactical operations, which include physical endurance, weapons handling, and survival skills.
Fans, also known as ARMY, have expressed immense pride in V’s military achievements. Hashtags such as #ProudOfYouTaehyung and #ExemplarySoldierV trended across platforms like Twitter and Instagram, with fans sharing their appreciation for his strength, courage, and leadership.
BigHit Music, the agency behind BTS, has not officially commented on the recent developments but confirmed earlier that all members are fulfilling their duties as required.
V's continued excellence during military service mirrors the discipline and passion he has always demonstrated in his music and performances. Known for his soulful voice and charismatic stage presence, he is expected to return to the entertainment industry after completing his service in 2025.
As V excels in his new role, fans are reminded of the multi-dimensional nature of their idol — one who brings the same dedication to the military that he brought to the global music stage.
