The highly anticipated fifth and final season of The Boys has officially gone into production, as announced by showrunner Eric Kripke on social media late Monday. Sharing an image of the first page of the screenplay, Kripke revealed that the season’s opening episode will be titled Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite.
Based on the bestselling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys follows a group of vigilantes who take on corrupt superheroes abusing their powers. Prime Video greenlit the final season in May 2024, much to the excitement of fans who have been following the chaotic, irreverent series since its debut.
Returning for the final season are fan-favorite stars including Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, and Karen Fukuhara. New faces joining the cast include Daveed Diggs and Mason Dye, with Supernatural star Jared Padalecki making an exciting return to work with Kripke in a yet-to-be-revealed role, speculated to be connected to Jensen Ackles’ character, Soldier Boy.
Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and other executive producers will continue their roles in bringing this hit series to a close. Although an official release date has not been confirmed, The Boys season 5 is expected to premiere in 2026.
