Prime Video has given the green light to Silent River, a thrilling new drama series starring and executive produced by John Krasinski (Jack Ryan) and Matthew Rhys (The Americans). Created by Aaron Rabin, the series will delve into the lives of two men living in a small town in America whose unexpected connection is revealed as a serial killer is discovered in their community.
Krasinski, who has previously gained acclaim for his work on Jack Ryan, will direct the pilot episode and additional episodes of the series. Executive producers for Silent River include Krasinski, Allyson Seeger, and Alexa Ginsburg from his production company, Sunday Night, alongside Aaron Rabin and Andrew Bernstein, the latter of whom is also directing. Bernstein is known for his previous collaborations with Krasinski on Jack Ryan and for directing Rhys in The Americans.
The new series builds on Krasinski's strong partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, where his production company Sunday Night recently extended its first-look deal. Krasinski is also known for directing the A Quiet Place franchise, and his recent directorial work on IF for Paramount.
Matthew Rhys, an Emmy Award-winning actor for The Americans, has been involved in several high-profile projects, including Towards Zero, a BritBox and BBC1 adaptation of an Agatha Christie novel. He is also filming Netflix’s The Beast in Me opposite Claire Danes and stars in the upcoming film Hallow Road with Rosamund Pike.
Andrew Bernstein has directed several acclaimed series, including Ozark and The Diplomat, and is known for his work on HBO’s Welcome to Derry. Aaron Rabin, who has gained recognition for his work on Jack Ryan, is also working on Nobody 2 for Universal.
Silent River is set to be an exciting new addition to Prime Video’s slate of original content, blending thrilling storytelling with a star-studded cast and accomplished production team.
