The final week of May 2026 is bringing several highly anticipated films and web series to major OTT platforms. Streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+ are releasing new titles across multiple genres including action, mystery, superhero drama, and family entertainment.

One of the most talked-about releases of the week is Spider-Noir, which premieres on Amazon Prime Video on May 27. The series marks the television debut of Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage. He plays Ben Reilly, a retired private detective and former superhero known as Spider. The story follows Reilly as he returns to action after taking up a mysterious missing persons investigation involving Cat Hardy, played by Li Jun Li. The series offers viewers the option to watch in either black and white or colour format.

Another major release is A Good Girl's Guide to Murder Season 2, arriving on Netflix on May 27. Based on the popular novels written by Holly Jackson, the mystery drama continues the story of teenage investigator Pippa Fitz-Amobi, played by Emma Myers. In the new season, Pip investigates the disappearance of Jamie Reynolds while a major court trial involving Max Hastings approaches. Ravi, played by Zain Iqbal, also returns as an important part of the investigation storyline.

Tamil cinema fans are also looking forward to the OTT debut of Kara on Netflix on May 28. Directed by Vignesh Raja, the film stars Dhanush in the lead role. Set in the 1990s, the action drama follows a former thief who is forced to return to crime in an effort to reclaim his family’s ancestral property. The movie also features performances by Mamitha Baiju, KS Ravikumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunas, and Jayaram. After its theatrical release in April, the film is now making its digital premiere for a wider audience.

Another notable release this week is Propeller One-Way Night Coach, premiering on Apple TV on May 29. The film marks the directorial debut of John Travolta and is based on a children’s novel he wrote in 1997 for his late son Jett Travolta. The story follows a young boy and his mother travelling cross-country to Hollywood. Ella Bleu Travolta also appears in the film.

With a combination of international series, Tamil cinema releases, mystery thrillers, and family dramas, OTT viewers are expected to have a wide range of entertainment choices this week across different streaming platforms.
