The 32nd edition of the SAG Actor Awards was held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, bringing together leading performers from film and television. Organised by SAG-AFTRA, the annual ceremony recognised outstanding acting achievements and marked one of the final major award events ahead of the Academy Awards.
One of the most significant moments of the evening was the posthumous Best Actress honour awarded to Catherine O'Hara. The tribute acknowledged her contribution to the industry and her celebrated body of work in both film and television. The announcement drew emotional responses from attendees and viewers alike.
In the Best Actor category, Michael B. Jordan received the top honour for his performance in the film Sinners. His win was among the most discussed outcomes of the evening, particularly given the competitive field of nominees.
The ceremony was streamed live on Netflix, with Kristen Bell returning as host for the third time, following her previous appearances in 2018 and 2025. The event featured a mix of award presentations, acceptance speeches and tributes to industry veterans.
In film categories, the movie One Battle After Another led with seven nominations, including ensemble recognition and individual nods for prominent cast members. Close behind was Sinners with five nominations, further highlighting its strong presence at this year’s awards. Industry observers noted that the nominations reflected a diverse range of performances across genres.
Among other nominees generating attention was Timothée Chalamet for his role in Marty Supreme. Discussions had centred around the possibility of him becoming one of the youngest Best Actor winners, although the final outcome saw Michael B Jordan take the award.
In television categories, Apple TV Plus series The Studio led the nominations in the comedy segment. Other prominent television productions recognised during the ceremony included The White Lotus and Adolescence. Individual nominees from The Studio included Seth Rogen, Kathryn Hahn and Ike Barinholtz, reflecting the show’s strong presence across acting categories.
Veteran actor Harrison Ford was presented with the Life Achievement Award in recognition of his decades long contribution to cinema. The honour acknowledged his impact on global audiences through a range of iconic performances.
The SAG Actor Awards are considered a significant indicator in the awards season calendar, as performers are voted on by their peers within the acting community. With the ceremony concluded, attention now turns to the upcoming Academy Awards.
