Shakira is set to reprise her beloved role as Gazelle in the highly anticipated Zootopia 2. The singer announced her return during the Pixar panel at the D23 Brazil expo, sharing that Gazelle will return with an exciting new look, song, and fresh dance moves. Shakira teased, "Gazelle is back and she’s got a new look, a new song, and, of course, new dance moves. Wait until you see what she and her tiger dancers have been working on!"
Alongside Shakira, Zootopia 2 will bring back the original voice cast, including Jason Bateman as the fox Nick Wilde and Ginnifer Goodwin as the rabbit cop Judy Hopps. The sequel will also introduce new characters, with Ke Huy Quan voicing a snake being pursued by Nick and Judy, and Fortune Feimster playing a beaver with a run-in with the law.
The movie's plot follows Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they investigate a mysterious reptile that arrives in Zootopia, causing chaos in the mammal metropolis. To solve the case, the duo will have to go undercover in unexpected areas of the city, testing their partnership like never before.
Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, with Bush returning to write the screenplay, Zootopia 2 is set to hit theaters on November 26, 2025.
