The popular CBS dramedy Elsbeth is back for its second season, and the series has recruited an impressive cast to join the show’s lead, Carrie Preston. Sullivan Jones (Interior Chinatown), Ioan Gruffudd (Titanic), and Alan Ruck (Succession) are set to appear in recurring and guest roles, adding even more depth to the series’ already rich ensemble. Premiering on October 17, Season 2 of Elsbeth continues to air every Thursday night at 10 p.m.
The series revolves around Elsbeth Tascioni, portrayed by Carrie Preston, a quirky yet brilliant attorney who works with the NYPD to take down New York’s high-profile criminals. Known for her sharp intellect and unique problem-solving methods, Elsbeth first appeared in The Good Wife and its spin-off The Good Fight, and now takes center stage in this show.
In Season 2, Sullivan Jones joins as Cameron Clayden, a charming medical examiner who becomes a recurring character throughout the season. Ioan Gruffudd guest stars as Angus, a Scottish artist who inadvertently witnesses a murder through one of his video art pieces. His involvement in the case leads to a romance with Elsbeth, especially in a Valentine’s Day-themed episode that brings the characters closer.
Additionally, Alan Ruck plays dual roles as twins Peter and Bill Henderson, two men with very different paths in life despite sharing the same roots. Peter is a ruthless hedge fund CEO, while Bill has turned his back on wealth to live a more spiritual life. As the story unfolds, one or both twins may be revealed as major antagonists in their respective episode.
Produced by CBS Studios, Elsbeth is helmed by a team of executive producers, including Robert King, Michelle King, Jonathan Tolins, Liz Glotzer, Erica Shelton Kodish, Bryan Goluboff, and Gail Barringer. Jonathan Tolins also serves as the showrunner for this captivating dramedy series.
