Excitement is building for Season 5 of the hit series The Boys, as showrunner Eric Kripke has officially confirmed that a reunion of cast members from his earlier series, Supernatural, has already been filmed. The news has thrilled fans of both franchises, especially given the long-standing relationship between Kripke and the actors from the beloved CW fantasy drama.
In a recent interview, Kripke shared that the filming of this special reunion sequence has already been completed and will be included in the upcoming season. Although he stopped short of revealing full details, he did confirm that the moment would serve as a treat for longtime viewers.
Background and Fan Demand
The Boys, which streams on Amazon Prime Video, has consistently gained popularity for its gritty take on the superhero genre. Created by Eric Kripke, the series features a subversive narrative that critiques power, fame, and corruption.
Before The Boys, Kripke was best known for creating Supernatural, one of the longest-running genre shows in American television history. The series featured Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki in the lead roles of Dean and Sam Winchester, two brothers hunting supernatural threats.
Ever since Jensen Ackles joined The Boys in Season 3 as Soldier Boy, fans have been calling for a full-blown reunion with more Supernatural alumni. Kripke seems to have answered that call with a surprise element in the fifth season.
What We Know So Far
Though Kripke did not confirm the exact actors involved in the reunion, speculation is rife that Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins, or other regulars from Supernatural could be making cameo appearances. Kripke mentioned that the scene was carefully planned to balance nostalgia with the satirical tone of The Boys.
He said, “We didn’t want to do a reunion just for the sake of fan service. It fits organically into the plot, and I think viewers will appreciate how it unfolds.”
Cast and Season 5 Status
Apart from the reunion, Season 5 of The Boys promises to ramp up the tension, continuing the explosive storyline between The Seven and the vigilante group led by Billy Butcher. Filming for the season is underway, and several new characters are also expected to be introduced.
The cast, including Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Jack Quaid, and Erin Moriarty, will return in their respective roles, while fans eagerly await more updates on additional cast announcements.
Conclusion
The confirmed Supernatural reunion in The Boys Season 5 is a significant moment for fans who have followed Eric Kripke’s career across multiple successful shows. As the series pushes forward with bold new narratives and unexpected surprises, this crossover promises to be a memorable event when the new season premieres.
